The ask fm story is sad but to me it sounds like the dad is looking for a scape goat.

It sounds like the Dad is reacting in a way that, perhaps, any father might when they lose their child to suicide.  Who can say what they would do in the same situation.  I know I would not be rational.

I don't completely agree with what he says - but my word I'm glad I'm not in the situation he is in.  I can feel nothing but absolutely symipathy with him and his family - and a selfish gladness that it isn't me in that position.

I keep seeing cyclists riding on the roads instead of cyclepaths and cyclists riding downhill at great speed in the middle of the road (it's very steep around where I live) which puzzles me. Why would you want to risk getting hit by bad drivers?

(P.S. so as not to offend the cycling fraternity on here, I realise that bad cyclists are in a minority and that bad drivers are far more numerous and dangerous)

Spot on Baggins, that bloke must be going through hell right now, and I bet as he lays awake at night he blames himself as much as the website. Cut him some slack, I hope to hell no one here ever finds themselves in a position where they lose a young child, must truly be the worst thing to ever happen to a parent.

Have you been out roadside to watch the Arctic Tour of Norway? They close the roads to cars for them you know, which is why they cycle in the road. Thor Hushovd unsurprisingly took today's stage.

I do this a lot. It mainy depends on the cycle path. On my commute there is a red tarmac strip for a few miles and it includes the drains, manhole covers, glass, and the tarmac is broken up. So I ride on the edge of it. Then when there is a nice smooth dedicated path I'll hop on it. It also depends on which bike I'm on - mtb doesnt mind bad surfaces as much as my road bike.

Indeed.  I nearly collided with one when he just cut in front of me to turn into Nationwide House.

It's a bit far north from here although I today's route from Bodø to Bodø took in parts of Norway I visited a few weeks ago.

I can understand it if the cycle path is poor but this particular stretch is flat, wide and only used by cyclists and people on roller skis. It's better than the actual road.

Visually stunning and surprisingly flat...I've always fancied a trip to Norway, just couldn't afford the beer prices.

Just long weeks really.
