I like your Norway posts, I like flashheart's Thailand posts etc. I want to learn about the world not confine myself to this little island we live on.

I must admit I've learned so much about the balkans thanks to your football crowd and essay writing posts.

Not noticed if SY or FH's posts are that boring or not, I'll keep an eye out for them.

Calne is in the Domesday book.
Oxygen was discovered near Calne by Joseph Priestley.
Walter Goodall George from Calne held the world record for the mile for nearly 30 years.

Why can't anybody spell 'definitely' any more? It really isn't that hard.

That's because he was trying to escape from Calne.

TBF..Priestley was an advocate of phlogisten theory, and thought he'd discovered dephlogisticated air. It was only later it became known as Oxygen, given the name by Lavoisier.

Getting booked this morning for a foul which wasn't intentional. Now gonna cost me £10. Fuckers.

Ryan Shawcross, Martin Taylor... not intentional but a card still warranted...

The AA. Cost to join with Roadside, Relay, Home Start, Joint cover for me and the missus: £144. "Special Gold membership" renewal price as a reward for being a member for 10+ years: £268. You're having a bloody laugh. Rang them up and told them I didn't appreciate being taken for a mug thanks very much and they instantly dropped the renewal price to £144. Told them to take off the automatic renewal and I'd pay by ringing up when the renewal time came round each year and they said "Oh, we can't do the £144 then, that's only if you do automatic renewal". Because they're hoping I'll forget to check and they can rip me off next year, no thanks.

Anyone recommend good recovery/breakdown cover that doesn't treat loyal customers like mugs? (or at least has the grace to do it with a bit of subtlety)

Presumably so they can learn to call someone a "fucking black cunt" rather than "negrito", which is of course much more acceptable.

Is this not racist in itself, just picking out the foreign players?! They need to look closer to home in some instances!

RAC are exactly the same but play them at their own game. Long as you remember to cancel the automatic renewal you're in the box seat. I go with whoever offers the best cashback (through Top cashback) at the time. Should be getting £65 back this year from a price of £125 - Same poilcy as you're looking for i think Paul. £60 a year = happy days!!!!

Yup, had this last year with RAC. Renewal price massively more than new customer price. Rang up, instant price match. Will remember to remove the auto-renew this year. There seems absolutely no point in loyalty whatsoever.
