I'd agree that Earps would have had more outreach to the general and sports watching public. Her shouting "fuck off" was also one of "those" moments in sports in the last year.
She tried to work with Nike to take womens' kit seriously and they've turned around their stance by doing limited runs of her jersey.
I think she's done well on the pitch, has a personality and was successful in terms of the criteria to vote on.

I imagine Ronnie O'Sullivan is known by a few hundred thousand who would know to vote. 

I'd be shocked if anyone in this country with even the smallest of passing interest in sport hasn't heard of Ronnie O'Sullivan.

I'm not saying they all know how his sporting year went but in terms of name recognition its not a close contest between him and Earps

I am sure there are lots of people who know about him, but not people who be engaged to vote in this type of thing, not this year anyway.  Snooker has long since fallen to the depths of TV viewing figures, so it would be a stretch for anyone in that sport to win a popularity contest.

Even more specifically, it is a BBC Sport competition, so that means it skews towards sports covered by the BBC and few get more coverage or viewers there than Women's Football, so it shouldn't be a great surprise.

Then the day after the plastic is collected I decant as much from the plastic bags into the blue bag & preset.
Tedious.

I stated in the TV thread that I'd recently watched and enjoyed the ITV Drama 'Mr Bates vs the Post Office'. I'm always drawn to true life stories as it always seems to stir the emotions more.
