We once had an angry driver follower one of our drivers back from Chippenham to Dorcan because he’d cut him up at a roundabout.

He then stood outside the fence shouting through how he wanted the link/number/person to complain to otherwise he was going to wait outside till the driver left the building and ‘fuck him up’

All this before 6am ffs. Like I’d understand it if he’s ploughed into the side of your car and caused damage but

it's so bizarre how road rage absolutely consumes people. What's really to gain from escalating that situation? Of course it's frustrating to get cut up on the road but I just can't understand the need to act in that way. Human behaviour, love it and hate it in equal measures.

I’m quite a laid back person in general, but one thing that really grates me and always has is my WhatsApp messages being ignored, when you can see they’ve been online.
I don’t care if it’s a friend, partner, parents, other family, if you’ve been on WhatsApp, just fucking reply to my message.  Cheesy

This is my absolute pet hate too!

On the subject of tools on the road. My latest annoyance is going around a left hand bend to be met by some twat who is cutting the bend and forcing you into the edge of the road. Learn to fucking drive! Happens almost daily to me.

The reason I now have a dashcam for my work truck, driving towards Basingstoke on a 50mph A road, a car pulls out in front of me, I slow to below 30 but still end up behind him so have to brake harder, little flash of the lights but nothing more, he trundles along at 30, traffic building up behind him all the time. At the roundabout he blocks the road, gets out and tries to open my drivers door. Psychopath behaviour.

.......

I guess for me, a stupid trivial 10 second delay is not going to kill anyone, why do I therefore get worked up about it? A mantra I live by is control the controllable, therefore when my trains home were all cancelled yesterday and I was severely delayed getting home, I didn't get worked up about it. I just got on the first available train somewhere close to home, (and got a lift from 2 very very kind strangers) no stress. But before then, even though I had left the office with plenty of time to get to the station, I was infuriated that I was being held up behind people with suitcases dawdling.

A fine effort as always BO.
I'm generally quite a placid & stoic soul but with an element of impatience / not suffering fools gladly built in.
So I feel your pain!

Not worked in an office for 9 years now, but people that used to arrive on time & then proceed to have breakfast was quite irritating.
Sitting through someone slurping away on their muesli was a test of endurance.
Similarly the shared kitchen and the cunt from the company on the other side of the partition who would stink the place out after heating their fish pie in the microwave. Every day.

Don't miss working in an office.
It's much more convenient to surf the Internet all day from home. Smiley

Thanks WB.

I loved working in an office in my twenties, it was so much fun. As someone that has been there now for 25 years, and the whole pandemic/working from home thing going into the office is a chore for me now - not helped by 4.5 hours spent driving/walking/on the train/tube between home and the office.

Because i'm a bit thrifty/tight and try and avoid spending circa £5-20 on lunch in Canary Wharf I often have my sandwiches at my desk. I'm sure my colleagues love my egg mayo ones for sure!! I've never experienced fish pie as it goes!!

One thing I always find curious is the popularity of grabbing a coffee from Starbucks/Nero/Costa. We get coffee beans from Costco and I reckon the cost per cup (this is a total guess) is about 10p. There is a coffee machine in the kitchens at work which has good coffee and yet people still go and spend £3.50+ on a cup of coffee from one of the coffee places mentioned above. I've a little mug sized flasky thing that I fill up before my drive to the station. That cup of coffee on the train into London is heaven as I watch the world flying by!

Anybody bothered with these PPI-type claims? I’m claiming against EasyJet for data breach.

Now there’s one for claiming against being wrongly sold HP for car purchase which I could try.

My general rule of thumb which has seemed pretty accurate and served me well over the years is that anyone who ever claims to be a good driver is invariably fucking terrible and only avoids regular accidents due to the vigilance and ability of other road users!!

It's been exacerbated round here as when they resurfaced one of the roads into the village (a B road) one of the Parish Councils requested that they did not repaint the line down the middle as it would apparently make people drive slower and thus safer, does it fuck, they just drive their wankpanzers down the middle of the road now and one has to get out of their way. The other Parish Council, due to this, has subsequently requested that the white line being reinstated only to be told that the road is not wide enough!

Been involved in one single vehicle one which was entirely down to me as the driver, same way as been done for speeding once, again entirely down to me. I used to drive 35k miles a year, probably more like 4k a year these days (thankfully), I think I am pretty competent but no more or less than that.

Used to do loads of driving for work.
Now it's less than 5 miles per week probably, to the point of debating whether to just get rid of the car.

Tried to keep out of the way of the nutters on the motorways but always felt sorry for truckers that had to overtake cars doing 50 in the inside lane & the resulting bottlenecks that were not their fault.

Assume you mean the rolling news on said tragedy.

Horrible thing to happen, but it feels a bit morbid fascination. Surprised Sky don't have a death clock rolling down.

Not going to end well
