Supermarkets, no eggs 🤣🤣 Their chickens are coming home to roost. If they paid the producers a fair price they’d have plenty to go round. We have all the eggs we need and sell no problem.

Buy a couple of chickens and get your own fresh eggs.
1. The dog would kill them
2. They make a surprising mess. I've had to deal with catching a dozen chickens a few years back.
3. They only lay for around 18 months, then it's roast.
4. I'll keep an eye out for the handwritten signs near farms.

A women at my work has chickens as well as 2 Rottweiler pet dogs, I believe the dogs are pretty protective of them. The eggs she has brought in from them are delicious.

As you say unless you can move them regularly they make a right unpleasant fecking mess! The other big issue similar to 1 is stopping foxes or other killing them. Got a couple of friends who keep them in towns and are fighting a constant battle against foxes.

No shortages in the supermarkets up here (Although the quality varies widely - got some from Asda the other week and the shells were like paper!), albeit there are also plenty of places to get them from elsewhere, advantage of living in the sticks.

Yep, foxes won't kill and take one, they'll kill them all.

How about Alanis Morrisette 'You Oughta Know' - The end of the chorus.

Till you die...
Till you die...
but you're still alive.
'We can see-eee...
you hol-ding hands....
Which is ab-sol-utely fine, why wouldn't it be?....
I really don't c-are..... it's whether you...
are a cunt or not that matters to me, to me, to me, to me!'
You oughta know!
