They should increase the UEL and the UEL rate first  Roll Eyes
Hitting all of us in the middle again.

Ah yes, well, therein lies another anomaly. The squeezed middle. You see by a mathematical factor there are more of us in the ‘middle’ than at either the ‘top’ or the ‘bottom’. How you define those three sections of society is a moot point suffice to say trying to squeeze or penalise the top does not bear much fruit, same goes for the bottom section. Ah ha, the middle on the other hand is and always has been fair game or a cash cow whichever party is in power and don’t you forget it!

Nope, salary data always shows a heavy skew to the left, so a much higher % earn below average than earn above average salaries.  Most people are much closer to the minimum wage than the middle.  The skew is caused by the rapid increase in salaries after the average point - fewer people but earning many multiples of those at the bottom.

The newly fabled Middle Class are actually quite well off.

I don't get this at all....

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-58473802

I like most have signed an employment contract to work specific hours etc. I would have thought my company would be within their rights to refuse me different working hours if I requested them? What's the point of the contract then?
As for the company funded trip  Roll Eyes

The key relevant bits of employment law are touched on in the article.

It's actually pretty tricky to get yourself into the position that company did on the Flexible working request, which means they probably made it very obvious why they were rejecting the request.  I once dealt with one where the employee needed to be home to make dinner for the child - on asking for more information it turned out to be an 18 year old child - my suggestion we provide a Pizza menu on our rejection wasn't taken up.

Potholes - what a bunch of cunts they are… just spent £500 having my alloys refurbished and travelling along Bushton Road which has just been  ‘resurfaced’ to discover a potholes that they ignored and just filled with gravel 6 weeks ago and now the gravel has vacated exposing a 6 inch deep pothole that has shredded two tyres and cracked two wheels so now have another £700 to fork out (they’re custom 22” so not fucking cheap!).

Insurance claim in with WCC for their incompetence (not for the first time on this shitty bit of road either)

That road's notorious for that.

And your link shows Audi quoted £7k for 4 new wheels and tyres! Fucking hell.

My income doesn’t seem to think so.

But whenever I go past the many Roadworks in town there is never anyone working on them. Mead Way, already closed for 17 months. Progress, as you put it, doesn't seem to apply here.
good news. the end is in sight...

https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/19566840.council-clarifies-notice-18-month-extension-mead-way-closure/

someone within 18 months... assuming they stick to it

Not bad for a "20 week" project.

unless they are putting in a high quote so we'll be pleasantly surprised when it's done in a mere 9 months

Talking of terrible road maintenance, I see the weeds growing in the central divide along Drakes Way up near Green bridge have turned into hedges  Roll Eyes

Doesn't look good. Whereabouts are you, had my only ever costa's holiday in Estepona, Christ there is a lot of money knocking about on the coast down there, some nice places just a little in land though.
