Thanks for the words of hope Paul In summary, he might grow out of being a keeper, but he'll always be a bit silly in the head

One of the misses uncles came over yesterday whom I had not met before, I asked him who he supported in a cocky way he said “im a big Leeds Utd, been a fan for 40 years, how about you?” I told him I was a swindon fan, got the usual “well someone has to” this in itself mildly annoyed me. I said to him you have one of our old boys Billy Paynter “really?! not heard of him, but I will take your word for it” Fucking arm chair Leeds fans

I presume the words 'six nil on aggregate' came up a few times?

People who tell you they've supported Chelsea (or other big name team) when you know they used to support and watch Swindon at school and never once mentioned the team they now 'support'
My cousin and also my old boss both went to the same school as me and my cousin used to support Leeds, moved to Spain and suddenly became a life long hammers fan and my boss used to support Swindon mover to the US and suddenly became a life long Chelsea fan!

Remaking the Flintstones cartoon. I really don't care if it is Seth Macfarlane doing it, stop ruining classic TV. STOP.

'Fan' is shorthand for 'fanatic', and the Leeds fella you were talking about clearly isn't one of those. He may follow Leeds, but he's not a fan.

Yeah it was (bad luck, not a good use of farrago), could have happened anywhere obviously, just annoying that it happened in the middle of a bit of unnecessary confusion that could have been avoided by a bit of common sense. And some actual refereeing. I think you'll pass wiggy on the way out as you go in Chippenham 6's was a bit frustrating - 2 mixed teams at U9's to give some of the fringe players a proper go. My youngest who normally plays in goal was on pitch and scored 1 in a 4-0 win in teh group stages! His team went out in the quarters and the other Devizes team went out in the semis, so overall we were pleased with the strength in depth. Older lad had just his second 11 a side match last night in preparation for U11's next season. He is a really talented lad, which brings me on the the thing which annoys me - why do club scouts only ever show interest in big, quick strikers? My lad is easily one of the best defenders in the mid-wilts area but never a sniff from the centre of excellence. His team played the CoE recently and he kept their best strikers completely out of the game, and I still haven't had the chance to turn them down!

May I ask, did you ever have to deal with the "dad, I'm bored" when he was in goal? Or did he always want to play there and never complained when nothing was happening? Also, Wiggy..Goalkeeper connection...you didn't live in Ciren did you?
