I like most of the animated movies but I thought that Frozen was awful. I just don't see why it is so popular, but then I'm not a 10 year old girl.

Finally someone who agrees with me! I've got kids, I've watched Disney, some of its pretty good. But I thought Frozen was the most boring animation I've watched since Wall-E. Must be a gender thing.

In fairness, there are some brilliant animated children's movies recently released but I'm struggling to think of too many that have female leads (a lot of the early Disney ones do, but they're all about princesses trying to find themselves a nice husband).

It's my first heavy week in my new job - 5*12 hour late shifts. Penultimate one tonight but flagging.
I've just done 2 x 12 hours days, 12 hour nights tonight and tomorrow then Tuesday is a lovely 6 1/2 hour shift!.. Tuesday seems a long way away though!

The most Royal Mail thing ever happened last night. There's a new system (ominously called Skynet) that has replaced one of the 7.5 tonne lorry runs with a network of smaller vans. Swindon is one of the hubs for this, with vans coming in from elsewhere, dropping off mail and picking up the mail headed to their own mail center. We've also got a couple of vans that head down to Exeter and Plymouth. First night for this was last night, however the staff roles that are meant to sort the bags into where they're going are still open for applications until Friday, meaning the bosses had to get in temps to cover these roles. How bloody difficult is it to see that you need the seg staff as well as the drivers to start at the same time? I wouldn't believe some of the shit that goes on in RM unless I saw it with my own eyes, it's ridiculous.

If you call a system Skynet, you're gonna have a bad time. From all the internal stuff we hear about on here regarding RM, is it safe to say the main problem is middle management?

From what I can gather the duties were all but officially handed out about two weeks ago, then last minute they decided to pull all the duties and put them in as SAs and OT which very few want Also our processing resign kicked in last night (everyone loses their duties, they all go in the pot, most senior picks first and so on and so forth) literally 75% of the people who have worked Lates for the last however many years who are supposed to now be on Night put in for Family Friendly hours... So, we are now missing staff and have gaps all over the place, what was the fucking point then? On the theme of the thread, next door having some work done (in their bathroom I think) so that's drilling and banging from about half 9 yesterday and today till 5, pain in the arse for those of us that need sleep

Sleep is overrated.
RM's problems are caused by a whole heap of things, I'm not gonna solely blame middle management but they don't help. Some staff are lazy fucks too and it's easier for their managers to ignore them and put more work on the staff already working. Hours are being cut left, right and centre too. From what I have seen, shift managers are willing to throw the business to shit to get their friends in key positions as well. It's not a harmonious work place at the minute...
