I can sort of see that you might want to protect against stone chips, but for me they look daft. It's like buying a decent pair of walking boots then stepping into a couple of carrier bags coz you don't want to get them wet.

The traffic lights on Mannington roundabout only staying green for no more than 5 seconds at a time last night, in peek rush hour traffic.
(coming from bridgemead) Doesn't help that the road to bruce street bridges is closed which just adds to the traffic

Halfords.
Pop into halfords to get a couple of bulbs. Looked in their book and bought them and fitted them. They are the wrong wattage and have now messed around with the tail lights.
I should be able to take them back even if they are opened?!

Halfords bulbs are proper shit. I got some sidelight bulbs from there a day before my MOT just as it was the most convenient place to go.
Burnt out by the next day.
Motorist Discount Centre, Eurocarparts or Motorsave in West Swindon are good places to go.

good advice above. I get my parts mostly from europarts, good quality and prices. Halfords are expensive and their bulbs are shit. I got through 2 of their headlights on one side before the original bulb on the other side went.

I normally order online, and the one at west Swindon, but was in need desperately. Will take them back and ask for a refund I think.

Why is the 1st of May not celebrated as international workers day in the UK? I can remember various events over the past decade, most of which all involved riots.
I went to Oslo today and there was about 40,000 people at Youngstorget, a square near to the government offices (where the bomb went off in July 12) and outside the offices of the ruling Labour party, all present to hear speeches from politicians from the left-ish parties and a few others before various groups, unions and otherwise, began a protest march around Oslo. It was quite impressive and obviously Mayday has different connotations in the UK but wondered if any old(er) members could shed some light on whether events like these used to occur in London?
Norway, for an incredibly wealthy country, has remarkably strong unions and the level of political awareness amongst most Norwegians is high.

I don't know the answer but it won't stop me speculating: could be because the traditional/pagan may day was too well established for international workers day to take a foothold on the same date? Wikipedia has only the shortest of paragraphs for international workers day under the heading United Kingdom which suggests its never been particularly well observed.
