I can't link from the BBC news, but the fake bomb detector story  Huh?

Ugh, what a hideous excuse for a human being.

Yeah, he's a fucker. Ben Goldacre flagged up his bollocks in the book 'Bad Science' back in 2010. Surprising it's taken so long to prosecute him.

The fact it's less expensive to send two 1.5kg packages airmail than it is to send one 3kg one.

Other than being able to stuff two small ones into gaps that one big one wouldn't fit in, I really can't work out a good reason for it other than to sell packaging.

On a brighter note I could do with one of the golf ball finders though.

... in the book 'Bad Science' ...

Which brings me on to another pet hate. Hollywood's insistence on remaking (sorry, reimagining) 'classic' films and fucking them up. Next on the hit list....Weird Science.

No Hollywood. No.

They're not even described as 'real' golf ball finders! They're 'novelty!'

Don't you think it's strange that after several years of using them in a fairly bomb riddled country, nobody in Iraq thought "hold on how have we never actually found a bomb with these things?".

The other half had an idea for the ideal punishment. As mush reckons the things work, drop him into a minefield with one to help him find his way out.

What are Chinese hospitals like?  I fear that if I needed to use one for a serious condition, they would come out with a sachet of powdered rhino penis or something.

Suspended Coffees.

Don't get me wrong I agree with the idea of charitable coffees but it means if I buy a suspended coffee for someone else less fortunate then Starbucks (other coffee chains are available) gets twice the profit rather than if I just bought one.

With that whole issue around their taxes I'm not in favour unless someone can put me right on this. Surely it would be better to offer a suspended coffee at cost price ? or a nominal £1 ?

You may also be asked to participate in events aimed at promoting study abroad to students at your host institution, and/or to assist with UCL promotional activity in your host country. This might entail, for instance, accompanying a member of UCL staff to a higher education exhibition in your host city and speaking to prospective students about your experience of studying at UCL.
