i can't fathom why people would put butter and mayonaise into a sandwich...if anything the butter is there to keep it all stuck together, a job the mayo does better with better tasting results

This is the water. And this is the well. Drink full and descend. The horse is the white of the eyes and dark within.

I'm mostly in agreement with some of the suggestions already on here:
1. Anything with pickle 2. Anything with gherkins 3. Jam/Marmalade/Lemon Curd/any other fruit based preservative (it belongs on toast) 4. Marmite (I love the stuff, but it belongs on toast) 5. Peanut butter (Again, it belongs on toast)

I would agree but I seem to have acquired a taste for corned beef in recent years and I used to detest it. I think it’s like a blue cheese that it becomes an acquired taste as years go by. Corned beef and pickled onion sandwiches are superb.

When I get home, I'm going to make myself a peanut butter and Branston sandwich with salad (including tomatoes and cucumbers AND gherkins) just to piss you all off.

Come on Fred - I know this site isn't meant to be PC, but there is a line between funny and offensive.
