I assume not...otherwise he'd have mentioned it. Last season when we needed players, we got Nalis, Casal and Marshall....instead of Mulgrew, Jones and Betsy. |

Think you miss the point...Betsy played 41 times for Sarfend...Jones 38 times for H'pool. These are steady L1 performers....that is the sort of market we're in, when we end up not being able to attract players of even that quality, it's obvious we're going to struggle. |

Ritchie Jones is one of the reasons I have faith with Danny Wilson. Plenty of clubs that are traditionally better, bigger and wealthier than Hartlepool wanted Jones and Wilson sold the club to him. I'm hoping he can do similar here.

I get the feeling we are barking up the wrong tree, with the Douglas, Tudur jones type. The ambition is there to get them, but i guess our budget dictates, we cant match the others. Soon know if we get in 19/20 yr olds from the ccc or prem, in the next few weeks, when other rumoured signings dont appear.

I'm sure it varies from target to target, but whereas the previous Board would sometimes spend money we just didn't have....and so not be able to pay wages etc, the current Board quite rightly in my opinion, stick to strict budgets. This does mean though we can't attract the standard of player the manager would like, which makes the job more difficult..not impossible though. |

Over 4 weeks to the season, cant understand the panic. If its still the same in 2 weeks I will happily join the doom merchants but for now I will stick to optimism and the crazy belief that another 2 players will sign tomorrow before heading on tour with the rest of the squad.
