I'd like to propose the "fuck it, it can't be any worse than last season" formation;

GK - Lucas

CB - Greer
RCB - Morrison
LCB - Lescinel

CM - Timlin
CM - Easton
LM - O'Brien
RM - Amankwaah
LW/RW - McNamee

ST - Paynter
ST - Macklin

I know Macklin isn't a striker, but he couldn't possibly do a worse job than Peacock.

Amankwaah and O'Brien should be able to provide extra cover for the 3 defenders.

McNamee can switch wings and roam at will, run from deep, have nose bleeds when he mistakenly ends up in the penalty area.

Unless some of our youngsters come good, i mean really good.

Still...

Phil Smith

Kevin Amankwaah
Sean Morrison
Gordon Greer
Hasney Aljofree

JP McGovern
Craig Easton
Michael Timlin
Anthony McNamee

Billy Paynter
Lee Peacock (through default. I'd rather see him as a midfielder)

Is a decent enough 1st 11 for this level anyway. That team would be mid table comfortably.

If you had all those playing to something like full potential, then I'd agree....judging by a lot of what we saw last season then that's a L2 mid table side.

We need a left back, 2 strikers, a decent strong central midfilder.

David Lucas
Phil Smith
Hasney Aljofree
Kevin Amankwaah
Yinka Casal
Jerel Ifil
Lecsinel Jean-Francois
Gordan Greer
Sean Morrison
Alan OBrien
Jon Paul McGovern
Macca
Michael Timlin
Lee Peacock
Craig Easton
Billy Paynter
Mark Marshall
Lloyd Macklin

Yinka and Marshall will be gone, Aljofree may not even come back.  Lee Peacock may be a different player without the back injury.

What? You mean the same team that struggled last season before we got loan signings in? I know you have included Greer but still that squad is weaker than last seasons.

Read on the Thisis site that Peacock is injured again. Wish we would just pay up his contract

Nope, never. Not a single one.

Must have seen Swindon play a couple of hundred times, but calling that football is a bit of a stretch.

I already posted this, learn to read.

Phil Smith first choice on form = better than himself and Brezovan last season.

Greer in defence the whole season = improvment

JPM, Craig Easton & Hasney Aljofree fit for the whole season = improvment

Wilson, Shirtliff and Wood = IMPROVMENT Malpas, Byrne and Williams - cant you understand that?!?!

Ok, so we've changed the squad here and there but alot of the players have had us finish 13th and 15th the last two seasons. Some of you make it sound like we just stayed up and finished 20th on goal difference.

Wilson is a better manager than Malpas. Wilson will get more out of the likes of Ifil, McGorvern, Aljofree, Easton, McNamee & Peacock than Malpas did.

Wilson will do better with this squad than Malpas did. We will finish mid table again.

I would be amazed if more than 2 of those players were in our starting 11. I fucking hope not anyway

Well be amazed then because we really dont have much choice at the moment.

We dont seem to be signing many players.
