In addition a sell on from league 2 would be minimal as players just don't get sold for that kind of money.   So we would need to get promoted at least once for any sell on to be significant.

Or pay Ipswich a smaller fee and add on a huge sell on - 50%?
If you were selling your car through AutoTrader (who want 5% commission on the value of the car) and its value was £10k, would you accept an offer of £100 from me now? I'll pay you 50% of what I sell it for in the future? (That is when I sell it, if I sell it and if I don't crash it or dent it or damage it?)

If so, I've got a great offer for you!  Cheesy

I mean if you were able to take my car for a small tribunal fee in 6 months anyway….
…and I thought you could as a minimum double it’s worth…

Only 3 players in the history of league 2 have been sold for more than £500k and only 1, Ollie Watkins, in the last 10 years.

So odds are if they sell to a league 2 club there is almost certainly no sell on, so a smaller percent sell on to a champ/prem club would be far more valuable as it is far more likely to be realised.

There’s more than that, Exeter alone have sold another 2 for more than that in the past 5 or 6 years. Stockley and Ethan Ampadu.

You're right - I looked at transfer market not sure how I fucked that up.   There's about 12 £1m+ still a rare occurrence creating only a relatively small sell on on £500k+

£600k seems reasonable for Simpson. £50k up front, another £100k if we get promoted to League One and another £450k if he fires us to the championship.

Only structure I can see that figure having any sort of realism to it.

OK, *that* kind of 600k is workable

Theŷ would be better asking for £250,000 with a sell on as we could get promoted to league one and never get into the championship.

Workable for us.

I'm sure Ipswich will want more up front!

I would have loved to have kept Egbo with another rb but i cant see Charlton getting much from him tbh less than 50 games in 5 seasons is not a great return
