Because of his love for plastic surgery his next of kin have asked that he is melted down and made into lego so that the kids can play with him for a change

Reports of Michael Jackson having a heart attack are incorrect. He was found in the children’s ward having a stroke.

Is it just me, or does this picture look more like Bo Selecta Jackson? http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/45974000/jpg/_45974634_jackson_getty466b.jpg

The BBC have the audio from the 911 call: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8121884.stmA bit morbid to say the least. Interesting that the caller says that when Jackson had the heart attack (or whatever) the only person with him was his doctor. Makes you wonder exactly what happened.

People will moan about the media going on about it, but it makes a nice change going into the local shop and not seeing that slag Jordan staring back at me from the tabloids.
Also it's understandable. It's the most high profile celebrity death in my lifetime anyway.

I know he's a "celebrity" and was adored by millions, but all this media hype and public adoration really annoys me. People die every day and don't get even a glimmer of the kind of tributes that have been paid to Jacko and that makes me sad.

We all grew up with his music. That's the reason for the tributes. Nothing more complicated than that.
I agree that the death of Mrs Miggins from Kettering, Northants is equally sad in its own way. But Mrs Miggins didn't quite have the same influence on my childhood. Jacko's been dead for a day, for God's sake. There's no danger of this going all Diana, I don't think. Let's give the man a day of our time. Not much to ask really.

Only because express and mail readers won't be interested in the memorial plates.

A day, yes. But there's going to be all sorts of tribute articles, shows, discussions etc over the next few days. Then there'll be a few hastily put together investigative documentaries where they interview lots of people who pretend they knew him. Then in about a week's time, as it all begins to die down, every paper will have some kind of "exclusive" evidence suggesting a different reason why he may or may not have died of natural causes. This will inevitably be followed by stories about tickets to his gigs and plans for the O2 arena to get some events on, as an excuse to keep talking about MJ.

But as you say he was adored by millions, and even more millions liked his music, and even more millions had heard of him. The level of glimmer and tributes that someone gets when they die is directly related to how famous they were (how many people knew them) and what they thought of them, along with how important the person is. Like it or not, I'd say Jackson was easily the biggest living musician in the world when you take everything in to account. This could easily equal or surpass what happened when Diana died, not in the UK but across the world due to Jackson being more of a world wide figure. It might not be right but its the way the world works.

Problem is opinions are polarised, no more than in my house, i've not been spoken to for hours since i mentioned he allegedlly (does that work anymore?) got himself off serious charges, by paying off the american leagal system. I have respect for his impact and contribution to music, particularly as most of it accompanied my "rites of passage" But because of the last 15 years of his frankly tainted life, i wont shed a breath.

Apparently he didn't go stiff until they pushed him past the childrens ward.

Both my eldest daughter and I look on it as one less paedo in the world which can only be a good thing. Keeping on the musical theme I'll be glad when Gary Glitter, Jonathan King and Bill Wyman also go. My wife, on the other hand is upset. My other two kids couldn't give a monkeys. I did piss myself laughing when he was described on the radio as a good family man.
