Loving your work Dave, that's exactly what we need at football, more Seal songs.

Oh to be in Swindon
Now that Wilson's here
And whoever plays at left back
See, he'll play alongside Greer

Every rose has its thorn(e)

Just like every night has its dawn

Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song

Every rose has its thorn(e)

On the dark nights
by the flood lights
I see his face
before my eyes

Micheal Rose
My Micheal Rose,
Oh Mikey
My Rose

Saw that, also saw some Stockport fans from the last couple of years, saying he has the best delivery and dead ball skills in the league for a fullback, so guessing he must have improved.

Has anyone else come up with some lyrics for our prospective new full back? Here's another for our future full back duo (note it may not be factually correct but it might make JFW do a little wee):

Rosie and Kev
Rosie and Kev
Crossing the ball every game
Rosie and Kev
Rosie and Kev
And Paynter puts them in.

shame we haven't got a player called Jim.

Rosie and jim
rosie and jim
rosie and jim on the old ragdoll
rosie and jim
rosie and jim
and john he steers the boat
we go and play and have a look(?)
with rosies bag, jims drawing book
the world is... something the world is something
(and then the duck quacks)
rosie and jim
rosie and jim
finding stories every day
rosie and jim
rosie and jim

Interestingly "Michael Rose" fits in very well with "There She Goes" by the Las.

I put it to you that some clever bugger could make a decent little terrace chant with that fact in mind.

Thankyou for telling me what i'm thinking RobT. I actually don't think mid-table is a bad thing at all. Nor did I suggest we should try and buy our way to success like Huddersfield. Mid-table would be an improvement. It's just not going to be very exciting unless we can keep within touching distance of the play-offs. Which in my opinion is not much chance at all. I hope i'm proved wrong.

Your last sentence gives away your thoughts though, it suggests it's bad news rather than good news.  I remember 87/88 being pretty good despite mid table, and more recently 04/05 gave us half a season of fun.  If we play like we did at the end of the season (any we should have a better swuad than that) and finish mid table, I'd suggest that won't be too bad on the eyes.  In the last 25 years we've not really had too many proper mid table "seasons", we normally spend most of the season flirting with the bottom or in the play off/promotion places (the former being more likely).

As it is, until we see the signings, we have not got a scooby what the 1st team will look like.

Was thought of quite highly at Man Utd when he started his career, they loved him at Yeovil and rated him very highly and were upset to lose him to Stockport.

Got 1 England amateur International cap while at Hereford.

Is also a dead ball specialist, scores a few from free kicks and scored against Rovers direct from a corner too.

I was losing interest until your last comment JJ  Yes
