Whatever happened to SARS eh? See, that's the problem with your modern scientific experts, just not prepared to stick with the pandemic they've got, if it doesn't take off and lead to massive piles of bodies in the streets in the first couple of months they get bored and move onto the next one. Not like the old days, then they really knew how to do pandemics - look what happened back in 1917-20. Bit of a slow burner, granted, took a little while to get going but did the scientific experts back then just get bored, give up and sulk about waiting for the next trendy pandemic to come along? No they did not, they rolled their sleeves up, got stuck in, worked with what they had and within a couple of years they had a lovely pandemic, killed millions right across the world, piles of bodies in the streets, the whole works. But you tell that to your modern day scientific experts and they just roll their eyes at you and sulk off to their rooms to ring the Daily Mail with another scary quote. Bah, scientitic experts these days, expect everything served up to them on a petri dish

Nice to see after further tests that the Mexican government got the figures wrong by 70 so not 170 dead more like 100.  Just glad its not all led to worldwide panic......

the mexicans dont want panic, quite the opposite. There economy which is heavily reliant on tourism is fucked.

The amount of cases is pretty average for seasonal flu symptons.

I think the media is to blame as they constantly crave doom mongering stories and people living in fear.

I agree I detest the media more than politicians, the best thing that could come out of the recession would be for loads of papers and media companies to go out of business.

Just feel the Mexican government should of been precise when releasing figures of suspected dead from Swine Flu, they have practically fucked there economy themselves.

A pupil at George Ward in Melksham has got it, it's a bit to close for my liking.

Shouldn't worry it's a lot less dangerous than the normal seasonal flu, that kills 40000 here every year.  Scaremongering gone mad.

One of our friends is preggers and got it...her husband came to the pub last night and we all told him to fuck off home 'til she's better. Is that a bit harsh?

Nah - fair enough if you ask me. It's not the deadly virus some have made it out to be, but it can still harm people so going into a pub after being subjected to it isn't too clever
