Wanting Oxford to win any game is just ludicrous!!

I hope York give them a good thrashing and their fans cry on tv and then run riot meaning they start next season in the Conference on -15 points Cheesy

Ralphy,

I concur. Keep the yellow scum down there as long as possible. Hopefully the FL have also passed a rule that you need stands on ALL 4 sides of a ground, instead of a poxy fence, to now play in the FL.

Agree with every word, Ralphy.

And the big picture is that all scenarios are good for us, & even if say in a few years time we somehow end up in the same division then it's a pretty good bet that we'd batter them home & away. In all probability we'll be pretty strong & established, whereas they'll be like Stockport were this season. They still have the original debt which is quite considerable, plus their real goal is to try to raise funds to buy the ground from Firoz Bin Laden (can't see that happening), so they'll never be in a position to properly invest in the team - their real priorities lie elsewhere.

Whereas look at us, not just right now but the signs are that we're gonna grow & grow, & get stronger & stronger. They'll always be eating our dust.

Whilst I agree with the positivity, there is no such thing as forever in football.

Are you a robot that can only absorb things in a literal fashion? 26, my hairy-arse! Have a look at the 2 clubs' history since they joined the league and you will see what I mean. I was, quite justifiably, just commenting that everything is pointing towards a continuation of this trend. I also backed this up with an explanation. Also my statement is not definitive, hence words like "in all probability", "the signs are", and "it's a pretty good bet".

I didn't mean to upset you.  I was merely thinking that it wasn't that long ago that we were not far from not existing as a club.  Other clubs have had growth for a number of years and imploded - Charlton, for instance.  There is also no unwritten rule to say Oxford will not find a Fitton and Watkins combo and stage their own revival.  I was merely exercising caution, and once again did not mean to upset you.

And yes, I am a robot.

Fair enough, Bill. I wasn't upset, just seems that you can be a bit keen to be a clever-dick sometimes, & you can see from the way I worded it that I'm not saying it's 100% guaranteed, just that it looks good for us compared to them. I do appreciate what you're saying.

Fitton & co are definitely in it for the long-haul, & O*ford will never attract serious investment because there's zero potential there (2nd part of that statement laced with sarcasm, but it's also what I believe). The shmucks thought they'd got that with Kassam, but they eventually realised what he was REALLY after hahaaaaaaa.
