Got to meet Ray Clemence and shake his hand at a football presentation evening some 17 years ago. Seemed a nice bloke, hands like shovels!

He was streets ahead of Shilton. If we hadn't flip-flopped the role I am convinced England would have been second-time World Cup winners.

A week or so out of date ( I missed it too) but Graham Cowdrey, one of 3 children of Colin Cowdrey.  Didn't play for England like his brother Chris but a legend at Kent CCC.  Likeable guy who hit hard times and left us in his 50s.  RIP

Football agent Eric Hall who, for a short time in the 90s, seemed to be everywhere.

Ex Town connectees Tim Sherwood, Neil Ruddock and Dennis Wise were on his books at one time.
