Picked this news up from a PNE supporter at work today, and this is confirmed on their forum

Oh wow, I like Gibbo thought he was a big solid centre back with a lot of potential when he signed from Chelsea but he never fulfilled it.

2 ex Town centre backs in a month or so now with Gittens passing.

RIP Simon.

Scored a few goals with his good jump and heading ability, must have been 6 foot 4 and could really head a ball even if not blessed with bags of speed, played well in a shit Swindon side.

Big build with thinning blonde mullet, not many players got the better of him.

Sad Loved Blake's 7

He was a hero of a mate at Uni. Not going to bad mouth the dead, but never meet you heroes!

Only 35 still playing in Spain professionally too.

Sad times, he does seem to be being portrayed as some sort of Arsenal legend, from my recollection he came too young and didn't do very well?

He was said to be the next big thing when he signed for them but didn't do much really until after he left them to go back to Spain. Decent player who could have been a lot bigger than he was, cost a lot of money through his career. £17m to Arsenal and that was 12/13 years ago now.

As a further to Reyes death, turns out it appears he was driving at nearly double the Spainsh legal speed limit and crashed at 135mph.

Justin Edinburgh.   Aged 49!

Thought it sounded serious when they reported his hospitalisation a couple of days ago.
