Caroline Aherne has died aged 52. Rip
Bloody hell. She was brilliant. The royle family is up there with only fools and horses. brilliant comedy that will stand the test of time. Sad to read this.

Goodbye great Caroline Aherne. A gift & language that lives on. "A vegetarian? That's a shame. Could she have some wafer-thin ham, Barbara?"

She had the ability to be funny and also touching at the same time. The queen of Sheba edition of the royle family was a prime example of that. When Denise was in Labour too. Brilliant. That show was so well written and casted perfectly. I'm going to work my way through the whole lot again I think. She really is a huge loss.

didn't realise/remember she was in the fast show, let alone 'scorchio' woman.
Her Mrs Merton interview of Debbie McGee must have had the best question ever in it "So what first attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels".
sorry Arriba, never got the long term attraction of the Royale Family, seemed like a one joke series to me..

Robin Hardy (wicker man director) Michael Crimino (Deer Hunter director/co-writer) both died. Two classic films there..

You ever see Early Doors? It was done by Craig Cash but I think Aherne was involved in some capacity. Same style as Royle Family, you can imagine it was set in the their local boozer

Early doors is brilliant, you can pick the 2 series boxset up for a few quid. It's way better than royle family.

I had forgotten about Early Doors, I remember watching this a few years back, as others have said it was probably better than the Royle Family (although I liked RF also)

RIP MRs Mangel.
Hope this doesn't sound harsh, but 92 is a good age. I'd take it.
