I've seen some question Lemmy's credentials as a legend, the same can't be said of Bowie though. He's about as legendary as they come. RIP Goblin King.

Bunked off school to see David Bowie at Salisbury City hall in 1973 which was my first real gig. Was already hooked by The man who sold the world and my love of his music never diminished. Sad day

Cue outpouring of grief on social media, led and driven in the most part by those who never listened to a David Bowie track but feel they need to be seen to be sad.....

Is it any different to you feeling the need to point this out every time? Fucks me off(not you) how many people feel they need to tell everyone how they should react to these things.

You'll need to stay away from any  5 live phone in today then, quite a few tears about.

Pretty unfair really. Most people can only vaguely sing along to one motorhead song, but even my 14 year old daughter can sing along to about a dozen Bowie ones. I'd guess that would be pretty much across the board with him. So yeah lots of people will be upset.

In fairness, staying away from 5Live phone ins is generally the best approach every day.

My father in law died at the weekend and I'm picking up the pieces of my family. He died of a vicious strain of Alzheimers - an illness that I was quite ignorant of until I saw a proud and lovely man destroyed before my very eyes.

It is sad when anybody dies, famous or not, but my grief is very real at the moment.

My gran went that way and it's truly heartbreaking to see any human that way.

This was what I was getting at regarding Lemmy, very sad that Bowie's death has illustrated the point. A true legend, in every sense of the word.
