I think it should be renamed the '5 year old thread to talk about people that have died, or those predicted to die this year'  Smiley

It should be renamed 'thread where people talk like 5 year olds about people that have died'

The title of this thread annoys me every time it pops up. Why did a 5 year old thread become the place to post about famous people who've died?

Wrong thread. I think you need the 'Trivial things you don't understand/mildly annoy you' thread - http://thetownend.com/index.php?topic=39090.msg1268680;topicseen#new

Elena Baltacha, RIP.  Tragic.

Her Dad played for Ipswich.  Not that that's in any way relevant.  What a waste.

Real tragedy. Only retired 6 months ago. No age at all.

Sad She's had liver issues since late teens, then cancer. Horrible.

While were on the subject of death, whose idea was it to have the roll of honour of those town fans who died during the season called out while everyone clapped? You struggle to hear the PA system at the best of times.

Yeah, said the same thing. Read them out before then start the clapping.

Minutes silence is better, gives you chance to reflect. Clapping is not the British (English) way. I'd clap if if someone i truely dispised or hated died though.

Yes, they need to rethink that.  Couldn't hear a thing and for those whose loved ones were read out, it would have been important.
