I always got Kenny Ball and Kenny Baker muddled up.

For the record, Kenny Ball was the one who didn't play cornet for the soundtrack to The Beiderbeck Trilogy.

Disappointing to see Tony Gubba died today after a short illness, a very good football commentator.

Just for a minute I imagined you struggling to tell the difference between a trad jazz trumpeter and band leader and the little fellah out of the Time Bandits.

I now have a mental picture of R2D2 playing the cornet.

Am I the only one disappointed the TEF didn't predict these?

Indeed. Much better than Motson, Up there with Brian Moore (who's head looked uncannily like London Planetarium). Also immortalised by HMHB:

Tony Grealish the ex Orient, Brighton, Luton and Eire midfielder aged 56 died of cancer, always played well against us back in the 70's and 80's a proper tenacious tackler.

No wonder he's dead.  He's on fire in that picture

(This is a joke.  I do know who Storm is as he just did the biffy album artwork)

I was unaware of this, but having just gone to have a look it is certainly very recognisable as a Storm Thorgerson - which goes to show how well developed his style is/was I suppose.

Did you really just use the phrase "bearded growler" without any pun intended?
