Well he's got a good win ratio. Remember how fucking awful Walsall were when Merson was in charge? They were just as bad as us and went down as well. Money totally transformed them and they were a very good side that season built on a solid defence and some decent players for league 2. He carried it over to last season as well where at one stage i think he got them in the play-off places? He's played at the highest level and he's been involved with coaching for a good number of years. Of course there's always John Ward....it's a no brainer and in comparison to most names mentioned i'd say Money is very good. But of course he's not a name so he won't please the fans.

Fair points onion, the thing is Fitton said that Malpass was very uninspiring and had no real energy...now i dont see Money as much difference to that, though i agree hes alot better than alot of names as you point out.

I don't know much about Money. What makes you think he doesn't inspire or has energy?

I'd be happy enough with Money, but as was said earlier in the thread, nobody has a clue who it's going to be and I'm quite happy to accept my ignorance rather than pretend I know something!

I'd be delighted with Money. Think I said in the 45 + pager he was my first choice but I ruled him out as speculation rolled on.

Why Money? He's not a name, we're the biggest and most attractive club in the world after all. Why aren't we approaching people like Wenger?

Meanwhile, Town chairman Andrew Fitton has dismissed speculation linking Sheffield United midfielder Gary Speed and Newcastle academy director Richard Money with the vacant manager’s post.
Fitton revealed he admires the pair for what they have achieved in the sport, but said reports of Town’s interest in the duo is well wide of the mark.
“Gary Speed is a consummate professional and I admire him as a player, and Richard Money is a really good guy and a very talented coach, “ Fitton told the Advertiser.
“I’m not surprised either of them have been linked, but I don’t know where it’s come from and there’s no truth in it.
“Gary has played most of the season for Sheffield United and would probably want to see out the season with them, and Richard hasn’t been in his job at Newcastle for very long.”

Seriously just get a fucking move on now. The crewe game is massive for us saturday now i know it is not the case at all but it is starting to feel like fitton is enjoying this and wants to just keep people guessing.
What is getting me is that if we end up with someone like ward,Holloway who have been out of work for the last few months we could of just got them in straight away and not bothered with this shit.
I hope that it is someone who will get the fuckers working and be allowed to bring in who he likes, i dont mind losing as much when it looks like the players are giving 100%. If we get a manager who can get them doing this i dont care who he is or where he is from.

Fitton said previously, he aimed to have someone in place by the Crewe game. The Crewe game is Saturday so as it stands he's on track to deliver what he proposed initially? Its not like he said "we'll have someone by next week" and didn't deliver is it!

before last weeks game Luci on the radio Fitton did state that that estimate may be a little optomistic and it may take another week on top of what he had originally thought.

I wholeheartedly agree, even if you did shoot me down a few days ago for saying it was taking too long I really wouldn't be surprised if we appoint someone that Fitton has played down in the press.
