I started a new game after downloading the huge database patch.

I'm now 7th in the Championship about 15 games in (second season).

As JJ mentioned earlier, my scouts are beginning to find super good re-gens that are cheap or even free. In 2 or 3 seasons I should be able to start unleashing them in the (Hopefully) premiership.

Ifil has been a rock for me but now the ungrateful little cunt won't extend his contract, I also signed Brian Murphy in goal whom is doing good.

Other good players for me are Umara Bangura (AMC), another Umara Bangura whom is very versatile, Sofey Soley, Mizuno, and Michael Morton is a must buy. Cox was blinding for me in L1 but is struggling a bit in the CCC.

can you answer my question please

i give my first team players a rest after most matches, but its pretty excruciating right-clicking each of them to do so. there must be a quick way to do it?

on older versions there was a tick box in manager options for 'rest players the day after a match', which would be a start, but i think they've removed that?

I think, but don't quote me on this, that you can do this in the training option - rest and then choose how many days/weeks.

To be honest fella I am not 100% sure. When I played a 2 player game before my mate used to do this, but from memory I think you had to do it for individual players which was a bit of a pain in the rectum.

This game is bloody frustrating.

First season, finished mid-table, signed a couple of decent players, no problem.

This is now my second season and I've got a pretty good squad.  Started the season brilliantly was top/3rd all the way through to February.  My team has imploded and it likes like I'll be finishing mid-table again, in a division I should have really won with my squad.

I haven't changed my tactics or fiddled unless injury has forced my hand. Gutted.

On the plus side, with four games to go, I've broken the 100 yellow cards barrier and have one more red go before I reach ten for the season!

i had a look and i dont think there's a quick way to do it, you have to click each player.

Go into the training screen.
Select the schedule.
Bottom right "assign all"
Select rest and the number of days.

Hey presto, all players on that schedule are allocated the rest period you selected.

Every game I play, my central midfielders get awful average ratings, no matter what their stats and no matter how well the team plays. Is this normal?

I only just started playing FM last week after having stayed faithful to CM 01/02, since I quit playing CM4. Having looked around for a lot of tips and advice, I've become an advocate of KISS (keep it simple, stupid). It has helped propelled my Swindon side to the top of the league (primarily because I found a way to get Cox scoring), though its tighter than a nuns cunt up there, 3 points separate 1st to 5th after 32 games. Dissapointgly went out in early in the two good cups, in the Southern final of the JPT against Leicester, drew the first leg 2-2, just.

Got Robson-Kanu in on loan, he's a pretty good alternative to McNamee Smiley .

Also, Nemo - yes it is. Its a common problem, working on sorting it myself atm.

I've not experienced that...yet.....7 first team players injurad for an average of 1 month last season though.

Pfft, that's nothing. My AFC Wimbledon save has 7 players injured at once and one red card in each of the first three games so far...That'll teach me to try and re-create the Crazy Gang tactics.

Yeah mine were all injured at the same time too.

Billy Paynter has gone 1792 hours of football without scoring. Unfortunately he's been my only fit striker for half the season.
