Irrespective of what it says in the brochure (and most people would read that to mean that the payment would be taken around the end of September), part of the idea of the deal was that there were two staggered payments so you had the extra couple of months to find the money rather than having it all taken out in one hit.

My exact thoughts. I was just looking at some older posts about people arguing why it was such a good offer and that idea came up a lot.

Is Sandy Gray still working at the club?

I seem to be bill free at the minute, although I do appear to be 20 quid down without anything on my statement explaining it. I'll keep an eye on that.

The £20 could be the charge for a bounced debit. If the account was presented with a debit card withdrawal and the funds were not there to meet it the request would be bounced and you could be hit with a charge. Depends on which bank you are with, but IIRC such charges were regulated recently and should be about £12.

My account has (just about) enough in it to cover the debit though.

You wouldn't be charged for a declined debit card transaction. My guess is that Nemo had a bloody good drink over the weekend and went and got some more money out either for more drinks or a taxi home, but can't remember because he or she was peased. Am I right? It will be interesting to find out.

It may have been something to do with Cheltenham, just the statement shows withdrawals and use of the debit card, but has nothing to cover the last 20 quid. It'll make sense tomorrow, probably.
