The Legend of 1900, had it recommended via Lovefilm as a missed gem of a film. I found it akin to pouring sugar instead of salt over chips. Could have been half way to decent but was garbage made worse by the fact a 40 year old Tim Roth is trying to pass as a pianist in his mid-20’s. Bloke born on an Ocean liner, never sets foot on land, has a talent for the ivories and gets blows up. Gack 3/10

Watched the latest Pirates of the Carribean film earlier. My one word summary would be: Woeful.

Empire.
The only explaination I've got for that at the moment is that because it's a largely dialogue driven type film, the vast majority will be coming from the centre speaker behind the screen - as that is the case with all screens when it comes to dialogue. I'm keeping an eye on it trying to catch a clubbing scene, something like that to see how it is. Hope it didn't ruin it for you mate. I watched ROTPOTA in sc 2 the other day and it was fine, when there's a lot of action, ie. helicopters flying, gun shots etc, that is what the surround is largely used for.

In the clubbing scenes there was some sound from the surround speakers, but not as much as I would've expected.
The trailers for example were a lot clearer.

Watched the original Planet of the Apes tonight. Brilliant. Might watch the remake in a bit (which is bound to confirm why it's thought of so disappointingly).

Ugh, why did I bother. Tim Burton is a knobhead.

I watched Cowboys & Aliens last night which I enjoyed. Silly summer stuff but I'm big fan of all things Jon Favreau.
Screening was almost ruined by three teenage lads dicking around throughout the film. Why spend £7.50 (probably their parents money) if you cannot sit still, be quiet and resist using your phone for a couple of hours?
However, at the end some people wouldn't let them leave and gave them a right ol' dressing down. The main idiot initially got away until the cinema got the bouncers in. It's always great to see cocky kids on the verge of tears.
Petty lame antics (I've experienced far worse) but it's nice to see such cinema goers get their comeuppance for once.
