Senna was brilliant, I thought the footage and film was put together well. Was a bit weird watching a documentary in the cinema though.

Watched Batman Begins last night - love that film. Although I fell asleep just after the toxin is released into the air and woke up when Bruce is back at the burnt out mansion.

I went to that Tyneside Film Festival a few weeks back.

Watching films in the cinema between 0000-1000 is a weird but ultimately fun experience. As pretentious as it sounds, it was great to watch such groundbreaking films at a great cinema with a largely well-behaved audience. First showing aside...

Peeping Tom: Loved it. It was sort of ruined by annoying overly excited/drunk audience members who shouted at the screen. Boo them as it was great filmmaking. Shocking, funny and quite thought provoking.



Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!: Really good bit of old kitsch nonsense from Russ Meyer.



The Cat People: This one started at about 4am and it was a bit of a test as I was flagging a bit at this point. There was snoring from various points of the theatre. I made it through and loved it.



At this point it was either home for a couple of hours or hang about... We decided to take a 6am viewing of The Wizard of Oz. It was excellent on the big screen, but I was essentially watching with one eye open trying to stay awake... and then the man in the row behind pissed into a bottle/pint glass and that woke me up. His seat was made ‘out-of-bounds’ by staff for the next showing!

The final film was ‘A Night at the Opera’. I’m a big fan of The Marx Brothers and this was the first time I’ve been able to see them on the big screen. I was sat near the front looking up like a little kid. BRILLIANT.



Back to reality, I watched Seth Rogen in The Green Hornet, It was poor.

Really? I didn't think it was gay, just shit. A bit formulaic and the 'twist' you could spot a fucking mile off.
The lezzie scene was ok though.

Parts of it were definitely a bit blatant, like how she started off wearing all white clothes and gradually wore more grey and then black. GCSE film studies teachers will have a field day with it.

But there was enough left open to keep me entertained, like the blurring of reality and self-concept stuff. And the lesbifriends scene was great wrrruuhhh.
