I saw 'Hunger' last weekend. Its about Bobby Sands and the 1981 Hunger Strikes by IRA terrorists.

The cinema was silent for a good few minutes when the credits rolled, nobody moving or speaking. Quite an effect and not a reaction I've ever seen before.

Well worth a watch and a brilliantly done film. Not sure whether its possible to enjoy a film so brutal and horrible, but I'm glad to have seen it.

Saw The Changeling. Was disappointing sadly. From the reviews i'd read it sounded like film of the year whereas in reality it was far too long and dragged on like a bastard.

Still Angelina Jolie wore a load of lovely little hats so it wasn't a complete waste of two and a half hours  Smiley

I really liked parts of Gangs-o-New York. I just think Cameron Diaz is pointless in it and the film would've been better off without that character.

Daniel Day-Lewis is fucking awesome in it.

They should of made more of the Diaz character, like her being DDLs illegitimate child or something.

I finally watched The new Bond last night - along with the 2 other people in the cinema with us!!  and it was a bit pants to be honest - Daniel Craig didnt even get naked or anything :X

I did see the trailer for the new Star Trek film and nearly did a bit of wee - god I love Sylar man - even when he has Dr Spok ears and pointy eyebrows

I watched This Film is Not Yet Rated last night. About the MPAA rating system. Fairly interesting but didn't really come across as balanced. It's on google video... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-559517494445537267

Then I watched Richard Dawkins' documentary The Root of all Evil. Which is also on google video.
Part 1: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=9002284641446868316
Part 2: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7619161192220036050
Whilst I agree with most of what he's saying, Dawkins doesn't half come across as a bit of a twat. People have recommended me some (one?) of his books before but I've never read them. I guess his arguments and reasoning might be more suited too writing than telly?

There's quite a lot of ace stuff on google video. It's like a posh youtube where things can last more than 10 mins.

He comes across as a bit of a twat in his books too. I agree with most of what he writes, but don't like the way he writes it, all a bit superior.
