I watched Ferris thingies day off for the first time the other day (that I remember, some of it seemed familiar), but I guess you've seen that.
If you forget about the Sci-Fi bits then Star Trek II is the best cold war sub thriller film ever made.
The Devil's Chair is sort of horror, and sort of really randomly placed comedy moments, with part psychological randomness. It's a weird one and worth a watch, if just for the complete inaneness of having Matt Berry in it.
Well that's two films in the catagorys you don't want out the way.
Dead Mans Shoes is good, but I guess you've probably seen that.
Errr. picking things off the top of my head... Brazil? You must have seen that.
Any Kubrick films you haven't seen?
The Walace and Gromit film about the rabbits. That's ace.
Any of the Hayao Miyazaki films, Howl's moving castle is ace.
Top of my head is being lame.

I really wanted to like that, but it was so British to the point where it clearly was just being British to pander to an American audience. If the midget had been the star wars ewok dude/willow then I might have forgiven it. |

The ridiculous in it always went one step to far. It had the makings of a good dark comedy but just took everything just over the edge of ridiculous. Lot's of people who haven't seen each other for a long time in one place, good scenario for comedy. Find out the dead person had a gay affair, awesome. With a midget? Too far. The whole drug thing was stupid, the characters in it are quite strong, so why rely on ridiculous misunderstandings and coincidences for some pass the drugs around jokes.
It just reeked of missed opportunities a bit to me. It all felt a bit like an extended episode of a sitcom, but one where they waste time reintroducing the characters.

I admit it did go a bit far at times,but the comode scene was brilliant. |
