Finally watched La La Land last night (things are getting desperate) it was OK but not sure what all the huge fuss was about when it first came out.

The new Spike Lee movie Da 5 Bloods is on Netflix now. Long film but a good watch.

Interesting stat that at the time of the Vietnam war 11% of the population of the USA was black but 32% of the soldiers that fought in said war were black.

Watched the Will Ferrell Eurovision film earlier.

It’s not the best film ever made, but it was surprisingly wholesome and had heart. Would recommend. Also the Eurovision ‘songs’ in the film could very easily have been from the actual contest, so they nailed that part well

The Last Movie Star (Burt Reynolds).

First 20 minutes I thought "oh", but out was a great characterisation of an aging faded star..

Was one of his last films too.

Watched Ford v Ferrari (or Le Mans '66 depending where you are in the world) last night.

It was pretty darn good!

The King of Staten Island was very good despite the fact it was the exactly the same style as Judd Apatow’s last 50 films

I've been a big fan of Saturday Night Live, U.S. stand-up and comedy scene for as long as I can remember and I must say that I've never really 'got' Pete Davidson. His back story is obviously very sad and comedically he has his moments but I can't see how his schtick will last.

That said a starring role in an Apatow film, six years and counting on SNL plus a Netflix Special just shows what I know. Nothing.

His Netflix special was not good though.

Can't say I'm a big fan of LAC or Peppermint. You're right though, they are very similar and clichey but in a very blehh kind of way. Still, they are much better than Mechanic: Resurrection. How I put myself through nearly 2hrs of Jason Statham's constipation face, I've no idea.  If ever there was a pointer, to a sell out cash grab then this the biggest kipper ever.

Interestingly (or not), Statham is from just up the road from my area and one thing I do agree with him on is that Stunt Artists should get recognition at awards ceremonies. But then he'd have a few Oscars. Probably.

How did you enjoy Peppermint by the way?  Soapy Tit Wank
