Andy Nicholas has been training with Salisbury City and is having a trial match for Morecambe tonight against Barrow.....not really a transfer rumour more a fact!

Nicho didn't play tonight.

I would have thought Nico was good enough for L2, If Hayward can get a deal then surely Nico can....

Nope I see he didnt, I dont know what happened to him but he was due to play for them last night, shame really he would be a good signing at that level, even better if he signs for Salisbury as he does love Swindon and doesnt want to move out of the area he now calls his home.

All the best to him, he could be a good player if he can keep out of the pubs for a bit.

I'm highly dubious as to whether we'll actually get someone who's better than what we've already got at left back - experience is one thing but will Hills be genuinely better than Vincent? We'll see, but I very much doubt it.

I believe that unless Malpas pulls one out of the bag we'll end up with a samey player because that's all a mid-table League One club can conjure. I'd go for a Premier League/Championship up-and-coming loan player at left back and focus on experience in the centre of midfield.

I heard a whisper that Charlie Griffin was due for a trial with Salisbury yesterday, dont know where he has been lately but he might be a good signing for them at that level.

I heard that rumour on BBC RS too (pre game). He was at Newport last season.

He did well at Conference level with Woking and Forest Green Rovers... I'm sure he could still do a job there.

The Rumour Mill tried churning some names like Gillespie and Fleetwood but from the start Malpas has corrected them. This forum is pretty relaxed this summer though - look around other forums (both STFC and other clubs) and everyone is going nuts with panic and "he could do a job here" type threads.

As soon as Gazza is back from his holiday names and rumours of big announcements will emerge once more!

I think if Blair Sturrock was swapped for Parkin it be the greatest foresight the Sturrock clan ever conjured up.

Alas, me thinks the original rumour is complete and utter rubbish. But if Sturrock went in swapsies for Davis that would mean we would need another striker - it would be win/win.

Again, me thinks it is complete and utter rubbish!
