Sadly I suspect that a lot will depend on what sort of Harry Smith comes out of the enforced layoff and all that comes with it.

Noting his previous sad issues with gambling and mental health matters I really hope he is getting the support he needs to get him through what will likely be an incredibly challenging period of his life and career with a hell of a lot of time on his hands.

If Tafazoli and Palmer were added it really does feel for the first time we are making a proper effort for promotion. I'm not saying we are Franchise "all in", but perhaps "all in" under our constraints.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but credit where its due. Lord knows where the money is suddenly coming from - though obviously the Armeen £250k + add ons helps it is usually absorbed rather than totally reinvested.

This doesn't change the mess or long term prognosis of the club, but at least it would have the chance to be a fun footballing season. With the worry of increased debt and an even more unsalable club.

But lets enjoy the football if it comes good...

They also have an "interview" with Clem that, thus far, none of the others have had this time. So it's possible they're being used by the club as a friendly media outlet.

And to make the 'non friendly' or professional outlets look stupid. A bit like that STFCToday account did.

For the first time that I remember we have way more cover at left back than at right back.

Kirkman, Munroe and Walker-Brown are all comfortable at LB.

Snowdon and McGregor are our only RB options and both of those are far more winger than fullback.

It's absolute madness.

They talk about promotion, but want to go into the season with a 21 year old midfielder and a 19 year old winger from the academy as your right back options.

This isn't a dig at those 2, both very good young players, but this is an obvious weakness for me that teams are going to target.

Good point.

Glaring issues but we insist on going after our 9th forward and a defender to replace Delaney even though he doesn't need replacing because he's still here.

Not necessarily wrong but I think you might be disappointed. The reason he let Sobowale go was because he said he was third choice behind McGregor and Snowdon. Can't see them holding 3 RWBs even if they aren't natural RBs. Maybe he will if we go to a 4.

One thing I think is very clear is he WILL get the full support of the club. Holloway will not allow anything less to happen.
Fingers crossed he'll be able to ask for help if he needs it at any point. Many of us know too well how hard it is to reach out when suffering and how easy it is to shut down to everyone.

Connor Wickham currently in the PFA list - four apps for Charlton last season... seem well down the queue with others on the Moonraker list though. Random rumour.
