At least with the Tranmere goal there wasn't any groaning or booing from our lot, Davison gave that a thump, more a freak goal than anything.

I think its difficult to judge without seeing it from behind to see if moved in the air (so probably only someone sat at the extreme TE of the DRS could comment with any confidence), from the highlights it looks like Davison just belted in a cross which was possibly closer to the keeper than he intended, but much as with the discussion yesterday Bycroft seems to have parried into his own net rather than out away from goal.

I saw him in 1970/71 at the CG in goal for Leicester. As a kid, I sat next to him on the team bus as he signed my programme! He was only about 3 years older than me!

I only saw Shilts once, played for Derby at the CG.
Before Derby, he played for Southampton at the County Ground in the cup. He was responsibile for a 0-0, where we battered him for the entire 90 mins and Kamara missed a penalty.

Then when he played for Derby, it was more of the same. But Hockaday got his 'wonder goal'.

Remember the first leg at the Dell when we got beat 3-0 and Kenny Allen got injured early on.

Seeing a lot of Jojo rumours online. My first instinct is that it’s all just  speculation as he wasn’t in the Crawley squad
Either is better than what we have. Button is almost 36 and would probably be let go for free.

I saw him for Derby in the 91-92 season at the CG, I'm pretty sure I then saw him later in the season when we played Plymouth at the CG as he was their player manager i think. Memory isn't the best, we won 1-0 that day with a Shaun Taylor goal.

Saw Shilton play for Leicester City in a league game at the County Ground in the early 70's.  Don Rogers was in his prime resulting in Leicester getting mullered.  The game ended 1 : 1, with Shilton putting in an incredible performance.  It should have been 6 : 1, Shilton was unbelievable.

Was at that game, lost 4 : 1 if I remember correctly, but it was against a European Cup winning team (Then, or soon before, or after).  It was an open and entertaining game and only got lopsided late on when Scottish International winger, John Robertson got space, with the Town chasing the game.  After the game, Brian Clough in his post game interview during Sports Report praised Swindon for playing a good game, being surprised that a Third Division side showed up and played football stretching the home side, rather than just being physical.  He hardly mentioned his own team.  Happy days.

Button would work if he's coming in with the option to become a coach, replacing Mildy. I do feel it's time that Mildy was moved on. Mind you, I am also talking like this is a well run and set up club. In normal circumstances this is the kind of approach a DoF might look at negotiating.

Could work for Button in terms of ''locality'' and he gets a clutch of games to finish the season or next with before retiring into a GK Coach role. It's probably something we should have maybe offered to McCormick. Again, I'm talking in what we would call relatively ''normal'' times.

However, both JoJo and Button likely would be on too much in wages for Town in it's current guise. Hollowhead has already mentioned that all the budget has been spent before he got here {I don't really believe a lot of anything he says but this is likely the one thing that is closest to something that looks like the truth}.

So if anyone comes in, I'd imagine it will be a youth keeper, inexperienced or little game time. How about out of favour Lewis Thomas from Bristol City on loan? Was on loan with Bromley last season and out of contract with Brizzle in the Summer. He's 27 so definitely needs game time and also looks like a keeper who could do with it. He has never really started his career and seemingly not even made 50 league appearances, in around 10yrs. Maybe he has had injury issues or just been happy to pick up a decent wage as 3rd keeper at Brizzle.

I thought this was STFC Transfer Rumours or has it change to ''The Peter Shilton Appreciation Society''.

Come one people, at least make some rumours up but as has been discussed before, this is a thread not to be derailed  Cheesy

Still saying Lewis Thomas, GK from BCFC on loan.
