Any player who has looked bad the last 3 years i would ignore. The management changes, the constant changes of medical departments and the ootside influence constantly mentioned by players i think makes it probably near on impossible to tell how good any of them actually are

Maybe something changed with his circumstances, but in the end, who cares, he is no longer our player

What changed - the offer of a good salary in league 1 I guess. Mansfield is commutable from London (if you’re a footballer)

He's good league 2 and i suspect average league 1. The guy has played a total of 30 league games in league one across 3 seasons and turns 29 in September, which is essentially his peak age.

I would have kept him and i'm sure he will do okay in league 1, but he isn't going to rip trees up at that level.

I never understood the beatification of FBT. A decent L2 defender on his day. An awful one when he was off it. Again, everyone deserves a free pass from the last few seasons but I saw nothing to suggest he was title winning captain material or the first name on a team sheet. Much like all of our defenders, he lurched from the sublime to the ridiculous, often in the space of minutes!

FBT was fine at defending in his first season.

Not saying he was good last season, but a more disciplined approach to defending may have him back to form.

He seems to have got away with a lot of criticism from the fanbase because he’s a nice guy. Can’t see him making more than ten appearances for Mansfield in League One next season.

He was on the pitch against Aldershot, that should never be forgotten

Yep. Possibly the most inept defensive display by any Swindon team ever. And there have been a few.

Put him alongside some more capable defenders and behind a midfield that offers a degree of protection and FBT will be just fine. You can’t judge him on last season with Flynns gung-ho approach or Gunnings complete lack of any approach at all.

Good luck to the lad, he’s been a very decent player for us.

Fair enough, but I will judge him on his individual errors though. And there were a hell of a lot.

I feel like playing within a complete shit show would have an affect on your performance, and the amount of fucks you give.

I see Nathan Thompson is being linked again.

Was a good player. Think time taking its toll though?

Surely Flint or Morrison could a turn here.
But think NT is not the man to take STFC forward.

We definitely need a CB of that mould, you’d like to think Morrison could be realistic. Heard Ekpiteta being mentioned as one we are interested in nothing concrete tho.
