There are people disappointed we didn't sign Ben Tozer, but happy to get rid of FBT.
The world is mad 😁
(Might not be the same people I guess)

There’s a reason why Ben Tozer has ended up back in the National League, and it’s not just money…
He really struggled the second half of last season.

Nathan Thompson would be an okay player to have around if we managed him properly and didn’t expect him to start every week. Capable of playing CB in a back 3 or RB and a wealth of experience that could help the group.
Ekpiteta would be more the type of CB I’d expect to be signing to play week in week out.
Need to sign a left footed CB I think, Pharrell Johnson is our only option there at the moment and he needs to be rotated and not thrown in.

Thompson would be the last thing we need. A liability when he was mobile being a walking red card, now his legs are gone he’d be a car crash. He got sent off at Portsmouth last season for one of the most ridiculous challenges I’ve ever seen so hasn’t changed, a big no thanks.

FBT is / was / will be ok in a structured disciplined line up / formation where he just needs to do the basics. Defend and pass the ball 5 yards forward to a midfielder. Can cope with the odd run forward (well he could when he played LB)
Anything more than that & you’re over complicating his game to the point he just can’t do it all.

We definitely need a CB of that mould, you’d like to think Morrison could be realistic. Heard Ekpiteta being mentioned as one we are interested in nothing concrete tho.
Ekpiteta reportedly wants a Championship move, so doubt he would want to come here. There are news articles about Wrexham trying to tempt him, but they appear unlikely to be able to do so.

FBT is a average player who could be signed as a squad player and not first choice. Tozer is signed by clubs as a competent defender but with an extra weapon of that long throw.

From Morshead's column - probably nothing new here but suggests there will be 'more' Clarke like signings. It is understood that Clarke is one of several more experienced players being lined up by Swindon, with a centre-back and creative midfielders or wingers also likely to be on the shopping list. There are indications at least that Clem Morfuni and the rest of the ownership structure at the club have awoken to the need to focus their recruitment on permanent signings rather than loans.

FBT was fine at defending in his first season.
Not saying he was good last season, but a more disciplined approach to defending may have him back to form.
The Mansfield signing video did make me chuckle - highlights of Mansfield scoring freely past us with FBT at CB throwing his arms in the air.

Yes his interview video is hilarious. What were they thinking adding those clips. Aren't they supposed to find good bits of defending. Some of the comments are quite amusing.

"Ownership structure" It's a very 'fluid' structure I'd imagine...
