He'd be stupid to come here
Why? He had the best spell of his career here.

Apparently, we’re talking to Kemp who is a free agent.
Is this based on a trusted source? As i have seen that noise on twitter but its all from unreliable rumour accounts.

As Batch said - of course we'll have a conversation with Kemp, we'd be insane not to. I'm sure he'll have better offers, but we have to ask!

If that is true then something must have changed big time in the opposite direction to what it swang early last season.
I'm sceptical though. We were announcing undisclosed fees in abundance before when it turned out we couldn't actually pay transfer fees at the time.
Uh oh. If Clem has found some more money then maybe it means he's shifted some more shares. I hope he's told the EFL this time...

Just my opinion of course 1. Personal development. He's 25 and is approaching his peak. You'd think he'd have offers on a more obviously competitive L2 team, or even league 1 2. Maybe our wage structure has changed, but you'd think he'd get more money elsewhere and a longer contract. Maybe he's happy to stay in league 2 and just enjoy it. Some do I guess.

If he's not going to get league 1, and the wage difference isn't huge between offers in league 2, he could do worse than come back here as a stepping stone. Somewhere he knows he can perform and put himself in the best light for a proper move up the leagues. You only have to look at how bad J Williams/Huttons stats are after moving to Gillingham to see the grass isnt always greener elsewhere. Having said that, surely Flynn would fancy him at Cheltenham?

Oh yeah. I can't believe Kemp is a serious option. We can all dream a little.

I mean I guess you could argue that his anonymous second half of the season at Franchise has basically soured any rise from n stock he had whilst here.
So maybe he / his agent would view his move to Swindon as one step back up eventually go two steps forward.
I’d probably at least consider it - in Kemps shoes but would also be put off by the fact the manager, assistant manager & half the team had changed. No guarantees we’d play the same formation, build around Kemp or have a prolific Jake Young like striker

What happened to Jake Young anyway? Did he get injured?

Realistically we should be doing all we can to get Kemp. Will be get him, i doubt it, but we should anyway. I'd also like us to try and get Payne back now he's also out of contract...

Don’t think Payne and Kemp can play together - that was the problem at MK.

I meant one or the other. Better chance getting Payne i reckon. I heard recently he still owns a house in Stratton?

On various social media forums i've seen Kemp linked with Charlton, Wrexham, Bradford, Gillingham and ourselves. Obviously the loan spell here will surely play on his mind when he decides his next move. I have a feeling it will probably drag on a bit as he's just finished his contract with Franchise and the next career move is an important one (I mean it is for every player I guess!)
