Drinan to me looks like the type of striker that will run all day, do a lot of the donkey work & score a few goals but probably won’t get you more than 12-15 a season…which still has its place obviously.
Him & Glaztel as a front two could be quite handy - I’d be ok with that as our front two next season.
Just need a better more creative stable midfield behind them.

Be very surprised if Glatzel is here next season, in fact I would be very surprised if any player that we took over the remaining contract for are here next season. The excercise to get themselves a contract next season and prove their fitness has gone well, well for Glatzel anyway. I expect him to turn up at Tranmere.

Agree with that. Mass exodus will come at the end of the season and we'll be starting over again with the team bar a few who will still be under contract

Fairly certain we have the option on all of those contracts.

I believe this to be true. The club hold the cards.

Assuming we can afford to exercise them. Seems a bit of a no brainer even if we intend to sell..

Exactly. Taking over a contract with all terms in place is a little bit different from putting a contract in front of them that they would be willing to accept, especially when there are suiters elsewhere. We might have the option, but they still have to accept the offer.

An option will be non-negotiable. We will hold the cards when an option is exercised.

The problem is we'd end of with the Hutton effect at the club again. The player is made to stay but doesn't want to be here

Who made Hutton stay?
Hutton had his contract extended by the club because they heard of other interest from other clubs so that he would command a (however small) transfer fee being he was under contract. Similar to Reeds situation.

Who made Hutton stay?
The club exercised an option in his contract to keep him even though he wanted out. He was out of contract at the end of the season so as soon as an opportunity arose for him to move he was gone
