5 in, 6 out. It's January 18th. It's er... not been a quiet window so far.

Yeah..With age/experience signifcantly reduced.

Hope there is plenty of activity still to come.

Odd how some names keep coming back up. Nichols is a lad we had on trial one year and decided against. Now here we are being linked with him again. I guess we have a small list of potential players!

Probably got standing as an agent.

Unique Sports Group is his agent.

Whereas Huttons agent is a certain Elite Management.

Hutton seems to have been very successful in terms of assists, even if less so recently.

You can't really argue with that.

To my eye, his crosses are predictable and too much on the loopy or floaty side.  It always seemed that he is having to target just the one attacker too.  I suppose giving him more to aim at would just leave us even more undermanned than usual for the counter whenever he lost the ball to a defender.  But Austin's slow down this season can't have helped him.

Some players we shall obviously miss.  Kemp.  Doyle.  Even arguably McKirdy.  Hutton's made an impression here but he's been too much of a mixed bag.  In the right set up, he could still improve but then, in theory at least, we could improve without him, especially defensively.

A mixed bag is a good way to describe him. Good going forward but dreadful defensively. At the end of the day better full backs have been and gone. I wont lose any sleep over Hutton's exit. In fact, it might make us more tighter at the back.

Agree. He's half decent at one thing and pony at the rest.

As always when we let a very mid player leave though, we'll probably end up replacing with worse.

"Half decent" = more assists that any other defender in the football league last season and more chances created than Dan Kemp this season.

I totally get that people want their defenders to defend and Hutton was not good at that, but trying to pretend like he wasn't a bigger attacking threat than anyone else in our team not called Dan Kemp is just revisionist bollocks. He was basically JP McGovern, just played at right back.

We basically have no creative players now - our midfielders somehow manage to be neither defensive (save Kinsella) nor creative.

This is a massive concern for me.

Can't see how anyone can disagree with this to be honest. And I don't think he was as bad as people made out. Definitely no worse than any other player we've used as wing back. Just my opinion of course

For me he was a poor defender, not much poorer than anyone else we currently have though. But the biggest thing is that I feel we played him in the wrong position, I would have loved to see him as a winger with a defensive fullback sat behind him.

I 1st said that after about the first 3 games he played and that opinion never changed.

Lets see what happens about a goalkeeper now - there seemed a reluctance to sign Ward then they added him as a coach for the youths so assume that was a different budget, what will happen now

The new lad needs some proper competition for his spot

They’ll struggle to get any keeper less experienced than him.

Uhhhh, most on here don’t like JPM either. Too slow, didn’t take his man on enough, crossing wasn’t good enough: the usual drivel.
