Connor McCarthy for Barnsley - 25yr  old defender
Franco Umeh from Palace - 18 year old forward

Granted we need players everywhere, but an 18 year old forward coming into this current environment is going to have a lot of pressure on his shoulders

*cue the “don’t write players off before they’ve even signed” comments, I’m not doing that*

No faith in either Flynn to sign to right players nor Clem and his pathetic regime to back him to.

He probably can given the chance. Lindsey walked when his budget was used on an ageing Austin. I assume that budget will be freed up this summer.

I mean thats the nature of most league 2 signings.

Signing a promising player whos development has been stunted by one injury is fine, as long as they are not injury prone.

And in the forward line we need multiple players so one youngster with some talent is fine, but we need many players there as Austin is gone and RHM never fit (or is he).

Flynns signings this summer were good.

Clem's competitive budget left us 3 short.

A fair criticism is that we had 2 loan spaces free and only brought in Benn Ward who felt like a panic signing.

Flynns inability to change tactics, and continuing to play Austin, during the last 10 weeks has been far more frustrating than his ability to identify players, which I think stands up

This is the thing for me, when things aren’t working then get back to basics and make the team hard to beat and try & keep clean sheets.

The fact that he seems unwilling (or incapable) is the most frustrating thing

We needed to sign a Jake O Brien type centre half at the start of the season but Flynn disagreed.

I’ve got a lot of time of 451 basic to basics when it’s needed. You do what’s best to get a result.

Fans won’t accept that now a days - the minute you try back to basics or play spoiler it’s shit, boring hoofball & not entertaining enough for the consumer.

I’d gladly take a few shit, boring, dull 0-0s right about now….

We will never know how much it was Flynn not getting things over the line, or the lack of money. I think its defo the second one, and maybe a little of the first one.

I thought Clem leaked that a deal was close with Kemp? Any chance they will sell him to us in 4 weeks’ time, but they’re just ensuring we have him for the least time possible?

Not sure whether we have him or not is much concern for MK. We are losing most games.

If anything maybe we’ve agreed in principle & MK have recalled him and will sit on him for 4 weeks and see if they get a better offer & on the off chance they don’t - will come back to our deal.

What is mad is that an owner with any ambition would have got Kemp and Young purchased early in the season when there were deals to be done.

Kemp yes

Young was an unknown quality when he got here. He started the season as 4th choice and only originally got on because strikers #2 & #3 got injured. Think he only had about 10 career league goals before us. So, that one I can kinda understand not being done with a deal in place
