No, basically
Not that it’s definitely happening but Pete o’rourke is a very credible journalist who has got a decent amount right ahead of time. Doesn’t mean that the move will happen but if he says the interest is there and they tried on deadline day then I’d be inclined to believe him

I would be surprised if Bradford didn’t allow themselves the whole month to decide.
They cant

They cant
I imagine they’ll recall him within the recall window and then work out what to do with him. Tricky bit will be whether they play him or not, if they do then he’s locked to either them or us for this season, if they don’t then they can sell on to anyone. Will be tricky for them if they try and integrate him back into the squad and he doesn’t click there, they potentially lose out on a pay day because I doubt we’ll be stumping up heavy cash so they’d be disappointed if we’re their only selling option. Then again his contract is long enough that they can wait another year.

That’s quite a strange thing to agree to considering he’s their player

Part of the loan agreement was that if Bradford want to recall him they have to do so between 2 specific dates during January - a window within the window if you will. That period, according to Flynn, is quite short.

Cheers Aud, not heard of that before but it must be common throughout the leagues.

Its very common, it is basically the same deal that brought Doyle to us under Wellens, its usually a 1 week period near the start of the transfer window.

Obviously a lot of talk about Young & Kemp being recalled in January but has anyone considered QPR might fancy a change of goal keeper in January?

From memory, he was about fourth in line, wasn't he?

Mahoney's inability to deal with crosses would be found out very quickly in the Championship.

They have 3 Pro keepers on their squad. …I’m sure Young was 4th choice at Bradford in August too

Obviously I've no idea how these things work but I wonder if STFC, in their busy transfer plans for January are starting to work out how they are going to pay for everything and have already had discussions around contract extensions. If Khan has already told them he's not interested, then getting as much as possible in January is surely the best possible outcome for the club. Then it's all agent/journo chat to try and garner interest. The fact Wrexham are being used as the club to show interest is fascinating as apparently midfield is not an area they need. Going all conspiratorial, perhaps signing a player that is going to be involved in AFCON is a way of adding something different to their documentary. (i'm unsure if tapping into the Gambian market would be hugely profitable, but that's another discussion) The fee is also interesting. 350k seems high to me, but given Wrexham have seemingly unbalanced things then I think it's a good price for STFC and I can't see us not accepting at that price, or even 150k lower.

re Jake Young - Let's be honest, for us to sign Jake Young in January in my opinion would be a miracle. The guy is absolutely red hot this season and has 15 goals in 18 (if Wiki is accurate) and is 22 years old. He's going to be kryponite for clubs higher up the food chain. Someone mentioned to me yesterday if you look at Max Watters in 20-21 he scored 13 in 15 for Crawley and earned himself a move to Cardiff for a million quid. I'm not suggesting that will happen to Young, but it wouldn't surprise me if a Championship team make a punt in January. Like Watters, it doesn't always work out, but if he becomes a success then your looking at a 10-15 million payday for the buying club.

All valid points. Khans agent would be doing him a disservice if he’s not already punted his name to all clubs from L2 to the championship to see what bites he gets. Young? Adios. Kemp, possibly the same as young. If that’s the case it will be very, very interesting how the the club respond and communicate the departures to the fans. Replacements? Very worried TBH. I can see a case if we’re virtually safe from going down then there may not be any replacements as a worst case scenario. Pull up the drawbridge and regroup for next season mentality could be the on going mantra.

Tbf, we have no sway over whether Young/Kemp stay. OK, we can moan about signing them on loan instead of making them perm in the first place, but that’s another story.
According to the Bradford forum, a poster is close to his family and said that Young, his agent and STFC were in discussions in September about making him permanent in January. Of course, since then Hughes has left and he’s continued to score.
They seem to doubt he’d fit in with Alexander’s more direct style but, as per fans, clamour for his recall for no other reason to scupper a PO rival - which is understandable.
If Bradford are thinking of selling him in Jan in case he doesn’t keep up his form with them, then I presume Young himself will have a big say where he goes.
