Might we not have pre-agreed fees with Bradford/MK? Which we can trigger if they want to join and then look to flip them at the end of the season?

(I'm simplifying but you get the point)

I'm sure Young will be recalled and sold on, there is bound to be at least L1 clubs keeping an eye on him, he has proven himself in half a season in L2, and looks likely plying the right way he can prob do it in L1, and he will probably fetch around £200,000 you would guess plus add ons.

As for Kemp I can actually see him staying as it seems he has no interest in returning to Franchise, so there is potentially a deal to be done, but it may depend what other clubs are interested.

Possibly. Seems the sort of thing Clem et al would probably not have thought of, though!

And he and Young are best mates. One may influence the other.

Of course nothing is a given in football and things can change - I'll open myself up for pointing and laughter as well if it happens - but anyone believing that Kemp will be in a Swindon shirt after the January transfer window slam shut should probably give up crack.

A lot of comparisons with Doyle floating about on social media but the key difference again is that Doyle could only play for us or Bradford. Both Kemp and Young can play for anyone else this season. They’re both capable of L1 moves and both are attackers and young enough which makes clubs more happy to pay larger fees with the potential of bigger sell ons.

Even if we have agreed fees, any decent agent would be telling Kemp to hold out until the end of the season where he’s OOC (unless MK have an extension clause). Young is a lot more complicated.

Peterborough are precisely the sort of team to take a punt on Young after he has shown he can regather his form.  Maybe we can ask for Wakeling back and bring back Aguiar to replace Kemp - that should just about do it for Jan, job done.

Or if the worst comes to the worst Adeloye back from Plastic Whistle.

As things stand we should absolutely be getting him back, regardless of how he played last year.

They seem to doubt he’d fit in with Alexander’s more direct style but, as per fans, clamour for his recall for no other reason to scupper a PO rival - which is understandable.

Winced when you said that as thought they were much further behind, but only 14th.

Indictment on the division that we and them are not further behind really.

Based on the current division, I'd say anyone down to about Salford in 18th (9 pts off the Play-offs) has a realistic aim to be involved at the business end at the right end of the table. Currently there is a gap between 1st and 2nd and then a cluster of clubs 2-6 and then another gap to 7th which in my opinion potentially goes far down the table. It's pretty open.
