And Baudry

Oh yeah and Baudry.

And Reed and Gladders in jan. But we did bring Austin in so maybe that explains that.

A drop of 500k in the wage budget is almost 10k a week

So that takes care of the departures wages.....

Moving away from Demetriou and whether we did or didn’t want him.

My main two concerns for this summer was Flynn missing out on his 1st/2nd/3rd choice targets through either:
1. A higher than usual amount of moneybag Clubs in this league with better finances offering better wages
2. Us needing to shift players out before we can bring players in. That leads to us either having to low ball contract offers because we have less free budget to work with or worse have to wait completely until players are shifted out.

Seems like we’re being hit by a combination of the two.

Where has it ever been stated that specifically the wage budget has gone down £500k, within the AB minutes the phrase used was £500k in efficiency savings which is an entirely different thing!

If the extent of our transfer ambitions is Mickey Demetriou then we might as well sack the season off anyway.

It hasn't.

But got to be a prime candidate - unless you can think of another way of saving that? That's not a dig - I just can't see where it comes from outside the likes of binning Sandro and internally promoting.

Ideally we'd increase revenue 500K of course..

Same reasons you say we missed out on Danny Johnson for 3 grand a week (not dismissing that all btw) and fwiw probs right on Harry Smith in all - Flynn has openly said he's a big fan.

…fair enough, if your confidence is for the same reason as mine…he’s know better than anyone…

If we bring in an inexperienced CB I’ll be pissed off we’re not going with Minturn.

Getting current Axis staff to cover some of the positions within the club? It wouldn't be £500k but could be part of it, and that strikes me as more of an efficiency. Of course, efficiency could well be a euphemism!

That's a good one to be honest.

Though quite what the arrangement is we can only guess - are the FC getting them full time and paying their wage. Is AXIS getting their time too and covering? etc.

Axis is a publicly traded company right? Would imagine the shareholders would not be delighted if the cost of those staff wasn't on STFC.

yeah me too.  If its experienced CB then fair enough.

I do wonder if Minturn is "ready" for a full season mind.

I’d agree, we need a starting CB, to go along with FBT, Clayton, Brewitt & Minturn.

Especially (as seems likely) we are playing with 3 CB’s.

As I don't know the inner workings of the business, who knows, there are many ways that things can be done more efficiently within a business to to save money, the internal restructure suggests that there has been a pretty thorough root and branch review so that will no doubt have formed part of this process, one would imagine they are also looking at external contracts etc etc etc.

Likewise not a dig, but what frustrates me is things like this having to come directly from the wage budget being touted as fact by people who are, for whatever reason, desperate to talk the present regime and the club down.

God forbid finding oneself in the dock in a court and seeing certain TEF'ers in the jury!  Cheesy
