Extremely sure and confident enough in saying we missed out on both Farquharson to Walsall and Demetriou to Crewe - others on here will know more. No doubt this will be denied. Demetriou was Flynns main man for 4 years at Newport. Shame as he woulda been a great addition.

a keeper, 3 CBs or 2 CBs and a left back required, 1 defensive mid, 1 attacking mid and a winger/forward dynamic type player. 7 or so first team XI quality bodies needed to compete with the current 9 or 10 that are first team XI worthy

Why exactly are you ‘extremely sure and confident’ in saying we missed out on both players?
As far as I can tell - it’s only the fans who have linked them and most have only done that because of the Flynn link.

Sure, I get the logic behind thinking we might be after those players and I’m not denying that but that’s a bit off being extremely sure and confident we even had any interest to start with

But no, looking at the other teams business, 6 or 7 capable players in addition to the 1 goalkeeper we've signed isn't asking for much at all. Need it done very soon though, rather not be constructing a squad on deadline day again like last season (which I don't think happens btw) hopefully 3 or 4 more in before col u.

Exactly this. He's the exact same profile as FBT whose a guaranteed starter, so it's unlikely we were ever in for him anyway.

People are creating links on assumptions and then causing themselves to become so disappointed when the move inevitably doesn't happen, when it's likely we were never in for him.

I'm wondering if wage EFL cap could also come into play.

I'd assume we were tight last season - though Dolo and Williams have gone since so maybe not.
