I don’t think Daniels will go anywhere, he’s just angling for as good a deal as he can get. He knows funds have been eased with the wages of Wilkinson & Ladabie being taken out of the equation.

I’m sure as soon as the club Catch The Wind of these Donovan rumours they will squash them quickly.

I’m not sure we are a basket case other than in the eyes of a handful of supporters who moan about anything and everything anyway. Perhaps he wants out but I’d be surprised, he has a year to run on his contract and would be more likely to get a reasonable signing on fee for himself as a free agent, Flynn didn’t sign him in any case and if it appears that Flynn had lost the dressing room at the end of last season as captain I’d be surprised Daniels would be desperate to join him. Doesn’t add up to me.

I really hope he doesn’t go but If I were one of the better clubs at this level, I’d certainly be looking at Daniels if I needed to improve my defence. He’d command a small transfer fee given his current length of contract and is a fairly low risk based on his performances in a poor Walsall side

Would be amazed if we sold Daniels, think this is absolute baloney.

I hope so too, but his absence from the kit photoshoot and the fact Flynn left are big factors in my eyes. If we are the basket case we appear to be from the outside, I imagine someone of his calibre would be looking to leave.

I can’t see how it’s cost effective to sell him , well it isn’t. He wouldn’t demand much of a transfer fee, and we couldn’t replace him.
The only way he leaves is if he pushes for it.

I dont know which clubs, but several have approached Walsall about selling Daniels. Just depends if Daniels wants to stay or pushes for a move.

I know he’s contracted till next year and a fee will be involved I just think it’s a mistake and a leader from the dressing room has now been taken away(if true).If Donervan leaves it will be interesting to see who is bought in as a replacement because Daniels was immense last season and we never looked the same at the back when he was out.

Shocking if that’s true and absolutely blows the “looking for the right characters” philosophy out the water as Daniels is 100% a true professional and a huge character to have around.Could all be bull of course but I personally feel it’s a bad move letting him go to our ex managers side.

Looking at his stats he seems to have only managed 20+ league games in 3 of the last 10 seasons, albeit no idea if that because he is injury prone or just been not getting games cos of better players?

This is why I suspect the whole £10k a week thing is bollocks, he needs Wrexham probably as much if not more than they need him and whilst they aren't short of cash they equally haven't, to date at least, come across as being total fuckwits, you could get a perfectly adequate keeper at this level for about 20% of that!
