I thought it was said the 28th?
Ah was it? I just assumed it would be the start of the working week.

Inexcusable that they are getting flak. However the club is failing massively at engaging the fan base at the moment, probably due to lack of staff, but they really need to sort themselves out.
I've just noticed this is the transfer rumours thread so afraid to ask what you think the club should be doing at this stage? I wrote something in another thread about my thoughts around it, but can't remember where or when!

Bout time we had a sweepstake on the time of the first signing.
I’ll plump for next Tuesday.
Sept 1st.

The kitmen shouldn't be getting hammered on twitter, just like Hanners shouldn't have been put in the position he was last year on the pitch.
All of it leads back to the club and the way it is overutilizing volunteers, not communicating through proper channels to its fanbase and letting some of its sponsors make decisions on the clubs running above the head the CEO and former CFO directly with Clem.
They invite pressure on themselves and don't have the experience or staff to think out a long term strategy on anything at present. Which is why they put people trying to do good in harms way, without thinking things through.
That doesn’t sound good

We are in the wrong territory for the transfer rumor's thread. But its fair enough for Clem to use any and all connections be that with people that support the club or not, to make the best decisions in the interest of the club? Rob feels less and less like the CEO though, as others have said before.

Yeah that caught my eye as well, as for wider communication as the players are presently on holiday, we haven't signed anyone what are the fans expecting the club media to be engaging regarding, the pitch stuff was quite widely covered (if that was your thing), assume the rest will be ramped up again when a) we return to preseason, b) we sign some players otherwise there would just be equal moaning about the club tweeting random tedious shit? Whether you have a media bod or not they need something to happen to have anything to be mediay about.

Summed up pretty well for me Horlock. Unless fans are expecting videos of Charlie Austin unicycling through Stow on the Wold whilst juggling porcupines or something, there ain't a lot happening!

Maybe we’re going to recruit via friendly games with A Trialist.
Fuck knows what the criteria is. Is it all down to Flynn to come up with who he wants?

If we had a decent media/marketing team then they would have had a content plan for the off season. They could have recorded interviews with contracted players, done some videos with Marcus of the pitch reno. Anything really. It isn't hard.

Would that really appease much of the fanbase? You'd still get people moaning about new kit, new players, lack of ambition blah blah blah. It's a bit of a lose lose situation if you ask me.

I'm in the same mindset, while it would be some fun content to see, I have no doubt that the same suspects would then say that this content is a means of distraction from the lack of signings etc. Club can never win sadly.
