Has anyone else done this?

I can't answer for English teams, which I know is your thread pull, but I can say (from my time here) the  local MLS team does an insane job of marketing.  I mean., it's clearly way too much for an English fans appetite, but they tease out third kit launches, launch the kit, then do all manner of shit with the kit.  It does feel like STFC is a bit....quiet.  It probably doesn't help that the Adver only rehash Facebook posts as news these days.

That's be great. I just think a league 2 club are not going to be paying for staff in these roles that aren't needed yet but i am not sure what other teams are doing tbf

But we don't have a kit to talk about till the end of the month  Wink

If we had a decent media/marketing team then they would have had a content plan for the off season. They could have recorded interviews with contracted players, done some videos with Marcus of the pitch reno. Anything really. It isn't hard.

Head of Media is vacant, hope you have got your application in.

Looking at Barrow this week they have had some generic shit re the Caribou Cup (pretty much the same as we have tweeted out), a new signing  and that's about it. Last week there was some stuff re Fathers Day, a farewell from a player leaving and confirmation of an offered contract being signed.

11 tweets this week against our 7, but they have signed a player in that time, so I suggest broadly similar.

Interesting one actually - a lot of the roles that are vacant (and we do seem to be filling them) don't seem to be publicly advertised - including the media manager one. The only roles that are advertised seem to be catering/football ones rather than back office ones. Assume we must be using a recruitment agency, but you think they'd at least accept direct applications.

Would that really appease much of the fanbase? You'd still get people moaning about new kit, new players, lack of ambition blah blah blah. It's a bit of a lose lose situation if you ask me.

Its actually central to how social media works that you have to keep people engaged in order to maximise your reach when it matters.

It should be possible to highlight issues without people saying "well, you have a go."

After they'd employed me there would be no budget left for players.  Pint

I still think we will see the end of Iandolo, Aguiar and Adeloye this window.

Not overly bothered by Brewitt, hes a decent backup but not good enough for a regular starting slot IMO.

So that 20 for me includes 3 unwanted players (above) and 4 young pros (Khau, Minturn, Brann and Dworzak) leaving just 13 probable regulars.

If Brewitt leaves thats 12, and with Devine carrying long term injury then thats effectively just 11.

Thats by no means a big squad.

Because i am a geek and the whole you should be posting things amuses me and i had a look and in the last week our official account has tweeted nearly twice as much as media whores wrexham. We have also just posted minutes with answers to questions and detailed answers on finances.

There is soooo much more this club needs to be doing better and i actually think the day to day side is one of them even down to response times etc so this isn't a happy clapper post but i do think a bit of reality is needed at times. What exactly do the fans want to hear at the moment from the club

I'd like to see him stay, but wouldn't wail if he left, either way he needs to piss or get off the pot!

Can't wait around on Brewitt forever. Either sign a contract or we sign a replacement.

He does need to make his mind up, hes an OK backup but I have seen as many truly awful appearances by Brewitt as I have seen him play competantly. Hes definately a 50/50 player.

He can head and tackle and block but also can fuck those up with the best of them. Conroy and Baudry seem to have got away with similar inconsistant levels of perfomance with us so maybe he will do well.

I agree. Did you look at the tweets i mentioned? Go look at all league2 clubs tweets this last month and be totally honest and let me know if they are any different whatsoever to ours. Judging by the replies on there i wouldn'tr engage with half the idiots anyway

Anyway sorry wrong thread. Brewitt can do one Smiley

This is spot on. We are in a better position than we have been for awhile with what we have, but there is significant work to do. It is not just 2 or 3 players around the edges.

Less than 5 new signings to challenge the 1st team starting slots would be poor IMO, possibly even more.
