I heard that we tried to sign him in January, but Sandro lost a sign-on % battle with Daniel Levy and so the deal fell through. It will be interesting to see if we go back for him, but I suspect he's probably not the kind of defender Flynn will be looking at.

Unfortunately that would make the situation slightly credible. The reality is someone ballsed up sending the paperwork. The lad was sat in the medical room and they had to basically kick him out with an apology.

Our squad isn’t crap or threadbare. It’s unbalanced & was managed by two awful managers last season. One of whom being the worst in our history.

Assuming you mean Morris.......one of?

I was told Sandro buggered up the financials so signing him would have put us over our allowed spend. Whatever the reason it appears it was down to Sandro.

Yeah, but also to many he was apparently the missing link on which the success or failure of last season floundered.

Who knows, probably wouldn’t have been enough to keep us in contention but may well have been better than Brewitt who was signed because we were short of a CB

We signed Brewitt after (…and McE?) the failed attempt to sign what’s his face - so wouldn’t have been a spend / budget issue.

We’d also just shipped off Harry McKirdy and his wages to Hibs.

He's already signed for Northampton.

Top bloke is Patrick Brough. He watched the Preston play-off debacle with us on a stag do in Magaluf.

Can’t wait for our fans to kick off saying we’ve missed out on a player that no-one actually knows if we were after.

Yeah - it's very easy to put 2+2 together. That said, there were online murmurings that it was going to happen, but I guess twitter statements by random journalists are probably best ignored. Generally there are only a few trusted sources, Pete O'Rourke is one.

Whilst Lavinier and Hutton are still at the club, it wouldn’t make any sense to be in for a right back in my opinion.
