He will finish up at Crawley. Saw Lindsey tapping him up at end of the game on Monday!

He was probably just telling him how great Crawley fans are.

Jeff Cott released by Plymouth.

Sign him and Austin up and lets try 2 up top.

An actual strike partnership played by with an actual football manager, rather than strikers played on the wing by a youth coach.

It would be enough to make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I wouldn't bother with Jephcott, if we keep Austin, Wakeling and RHM I would like to see a big lump as a 4th option. That type of player IMO could play next to any of the other 3.

As Theakston mentioned in the other thread, Jamille Matt seems to be a Flynn go to lump. 33 years old now though.

And under contract at Walsall for another year, if we had signed him last Summer I would have been happy, not so much now, he was Flynns "go to" target man, a role he plays very well, so I would think a younger comparable target man will be in the offing.

Whelan confirms we aren't pursuing Jephcott on a permanent. Imagine there's a certain profile we are looking at, and it's not worth the wages it will cost to sign Jephcott if Austin is already contracted.

He's shorter than Austin.... I would be perfectly happy with Austin, Jephcott, Wakeling +1 if the manager actually plays to their strengths.

Fine, I imagine Flynn will have his own targets.

Really hope we're keeping Austin then.

I'm already consigned to Jephcott scoring against us.

Johnson did indeed score 12 by Christmas for Walsall but then only scored 1 goal in 8 games when back at Mansfield, there will be suitors I am sure but if he enjoed his time under Flynn then hopefully we could have the upper hand.

Sounds a bit like another Eoin Doyle, could fit in but probably not worth the gamble.  Sure Flynn’s got his own targets already lined up.  Several names being linked on here are certainly improvements on last season -  this could be the year !!.

I'd say Mansfield won't take up that option but I imagine given he got 12 goals in his spell at Walsall this season he'll be highly in demand.

Priestley Farquharson sounds like an antiques shop on the outskirts of Harrogate, but is a 26 year old 6ft 3 centre back. One Newport fan stated he could potentially play league 1 so that would be a good coup if we could get him.

Demetrious is 33 and I think is a left sided defender. At 6ft 2 offers good height also. Out of contract at Newport and played over 250 times for them. Would certainly offer much needed experience at this level.

Priestley Farquharson. I thought they were two players in the OP and an apostrophe had been missed making it three players 🙄

I do remember that at the time, around lockdown, he scored loads of goals. For whatever reason it just hasnt worked out for him since then, fell out of favour at Plymouth and then comes on loan and does very little under 2/3 different managers at Swindon. He needs a fresh start in a side that plays to his strengths.
True, but a few more starts here wouldn't have gone amiss

Saw someone mention it but Brandon Cooper must be worth a look. Can't see him kicking on at Swansea if he is still getting L2 loans at 23. Played with Flynn at Newport I think and obviously been here before.

Would like him back 100%. As long as he is over the serious injury which kept him out almost a season.
